What a move.  Forget this Jay Leno-Conan Obrien flap that we don’t want to write about yet is fun to watch.  But the network where NBC seems to be focused on in their group is the one that just picked up one of TV’s hottest shows.  NBC Universal’s USA Network just got their hands on ‘CSI’ starting in December.

Here’s what they have…they can run seasons 1 through 10 but this is non-exclusive which means you will still see Gill Grissom (William Petersen) and his unit on Spike and wherever else they run the show.  But for seasons 11 and on and on, only USA Network will get to run those episodes, you know the ones with Laurence Fishburne’s character Ray Langston who replaced Gil.

Anyway here’s the statement from an NBC Universal exec, not connected with Jay or Conan, on the hit show coming to USA.

“We’re proud to add one of the most successful television series of the last 20 years to our programming slate. CSI fits perfectly into our already powerful collection of procedurals, including ‘NCIS,’ ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,’ ‘House,’ ‘Law & Order: Criminal Intent and eventually ‘NCIS: Los Angeles.’ CSI, one of only two shows to spawn two successful spin-offs, is an iconic series that reflects USA’s commitment to quality storytelling and unique characters,” said Jane Blaney, USA’s executive vice president, program acquisitions and scheduling.
