There were many hosts of the program after the legendary Don Cornelius, but the man who used the line “the hippest trip in town” will be producing a feature film on ‘Soul Train’, one of the longest running programs on television. ‘Soul Train’ aired an amazing 35 years on local TV. And Malcolm Spellman, credited with bringing ‘Dead Presidents’ to theater, will be working with Don Cornelius on this movie. The film will be set in the 1980’s and will be a behind the scenes look at the show and the dancers who made ‘Soul Train’ along with ‘American Bandstand’ the best TV viewing for a Saturday afternoon back in the 80’s and 90’s.
