‘The Office ‘ Exec Wants Big Name Replacement for Steve Carell

OK so we all know that Steve Carell is leaving NBC’s ‘The Office’ and the network sure does not need a drop in interest in any of their shows especially with the ongoing shuffle of programming in prime time over the last year.

Now that the Jay Leno debacle is over, the network has several really good looking shows on the schedule that could put NBC back in the mix this season.  Time will tell.  But with Steve Carell leaving ‘The Office’ the executive producer is reaching high and hard for his replacement.

That replacement is Harvey Keitel.

Nice name.  Good choice.  Good luck.

Now Keitel did a little TV in one show I really liked.  ‘Life on Mars’ was a pretty cool show that just didn’t catch on when it ran on ABC so Keitel might be a bit gun shy about doing another television part.  Especially following Carell.  Having another show cancel on him could be a career ender on the small screen but Harvey Keitel could be a really good choice.

Paul Liberstein thinks so.  He’s the exec from ‘The Office’ that digs the idea.  Still needs to run the idea past Keitel.  “Harvey would do a great job, a very different energy” Liberstein told Eonlinecom in an interview.

I like the idea.  Come on Harvey, talk to Paul, will ya?
