Jill Clayburgh and Lily Rabe

From Broadway in the 60′s and 70′s to the movies getting an Oscar nomination for probably the best performance of her life in ‘An Unmarried Woman’ back in 1978.  One of those movies guys liked because she was so hot in her short shorts.

She won ‘Best Actress’ at Cannes that year.  And she passed along her talent to her daughter Lily Rabe who has appeared in numerous television programs including ‘Medium,’ ‘Saving Grace’ and a couple of the ‘Law & Order’ series.

One story noted her as performing as a strong, independent woman in feminist movies.  Her work in ‘An Unmarried Woman’ cemented her career in that environ.

Jill Clayburgh was absolutely incredible.

She passed away from chronic leukemia at the age of 66 in Lakeville, Connecticut.  As for her passing her Lily Rabe said she dealt with her disease quietly and privately.

Never met her.  On my list as one person I would liked to have met.  And that’s a short list.  She will be missed.
