A new so-called ‘buddy comedy’ television series is coming to Disney Channel produced by the same guy that put together ‘Laverne and Shirley’ and ‘Bosom Buddies.’ Chris Thompson is working on the new series ‘Shake It Up.’
The program centers on a teen dance show begins production in July and is scheduled to air on Disney Channel this fall. Bella Thorne plays CeCe Jones and Zendaya is Raquel ‘Rocky’ Blue in the new comedy series. They play best friends who dream of becoming professional dancers and that goal is realized when they both become background dancers on the teen dance program ‘Shake It Up, Chicago.’
