Rod Blagojevich Pistachio TV Ad, The Worst (Video)
That’s it. My doctor told me to eat more peanuts. Well that along with going on a low carb diet which takes me off of breads, juices, rice, pasta and all the good things in life.
Then he said to lighten up on the scotch. I want to smack my Beverly Hills doctor.
Thank goodness I don’t eat a lot of stuff anyway but doc, I gotta tell you my days of eating pistachios is over. After seeing the industry use a low life politician in the name of Rod Blagojevich, the disgraced former Illinois Governor, in their latest television commercial.
What an embarrassment for the industry, the whole peanut industry. Who the hell decided to take a crook and make him your spokesperson. How dumb must you be? What loser at an advertising agency woke up one morning with the idea of using a crook to push their product. How did that conversation go…
“Hey how about using Rod Blago as our spokesperson? Priceline.com has William Shatner, let’s get the lowest of low and get Rod Blagojevich.”
Brilliant!!!
I thought it was me. Then I took a look at some of the comments on YouTube. So I copy and paste…
“I am not going to buy pistachios ever again. The man is guilty of public corruption. Have advertising people no standards? WTF.”
“Two big nuts… not pistachios in the case OR Blogo… but the one who conceptualized this commercial and the one who signed-off on it. WHAT A WASTE OF PIXELS! FOOLISH FOOLISH FOOLISH for the product. If I were a grower I’d sue the company for degrading my product image.”
“You think blago is going to make me like pistachios? only if you strip him naked and fling thousands of them at him at extremely high velocity…”
But then there were some supporters and here we go…
“Well well well, so much for innocent until proven guilty, it just goes to show how stupid people are, i fucking live in Illinois and i have no hatred toward blago, god and i bet all you people who are bashing this ad are the idiots who actually believe all the slanderous commercials when election time comes, because they need somebody to tell them what to believe. blago is entertaining to say the least, don’t relate government politics to something that has nothing to do with them. thank you.”
“Ok everyone who is bashing this ad just lighten up already, is a pistachio ad really something to get angry over? The ad campaign as a whole I think is a good one and this one in particular is kinda funny.”
So there you have it. A crook making money on his misdeeds and some trash him while other support him. Usually those supporters work for the advertising agency that created this crap. But my days of following my doctor’s advice are over.
No more peanuts!
Well except for that food, I will stay off the pastas, breads and juices!
