Richard Dawson, Host of ‘Family Feud’ and ‘Hogan’s Heroes’ Passes at 79
There have been many hosts of the TV game show Family Feud and without question its current lead guy Steve Harvey is probably the best. After being a viewer of Family Feud for too many years to count, the second best was Richard Dawson. Richard Dawson was called The Kissing Bandit as host of the show as Richard Dawson always kissed the female contestants during the years he hosted Family Feud. Richard Dawson even went so far as to marry one of the contestants.
Richard Dawson passed away at the age of 79 from cancer.
Richard Dawson hosted Family Feud from 1976 to 1985. And he was fantastic. Richard Dawson also played a role in the highly rated TV comedy series Hogan’s Heroes, had a limited role in the series The Dick Van Dyke Show and was a regular on Laugh In another comedy.
Richard Dawson’s son Gary posted the passing of his father on Facebook. “He was surrounded by his family. He was an amazing talent, a loving husband, a great dad, and a doting grandfather. He will be missed but always be remembered….”
