Watch YouTube Video of Final William Shatner Priceline.com Commercial, Ends 14 Year Run
Well you can’t complain if you’re William Shatner. For the last 14 years the former Star Trek Captain Kirk from the original series and movies has been the spokesperson on radio, television, online and print ads for the “name your own price” travel company. That’s a long time for any spokesperson especially one that was not the original choice by Priceline.com way back when.
The first person Priceline.com wanted was James Earl Jones. He was locked in to doing voice work for the phone company which has made him millions over the years. The second target for Priceline.com was Bill Cosby who back then really didn’t think this thing called, um what’s it called, the World Wide Web was going anywhere.
Internet, sminternet was the Jello man’s thoughts when Priceline.com came to him. And back then, well for Bill Cosby, what was a Priceline, com?
Then comes William Shatner who took charge of the voice work and out front guy for Priceline.com and he turned out to be the best person to rep the brand. He was simply fantastic.
Today that run ends. Shatner is doing his last run of commercials for Priceline.com today.
As his reign began as just the sell guy for the brand, he became the Priceline Negotiator later during his tenure as Priceline.com’s spokesperson and all day tomorrow the commercials will show the Priceline Negotiator and spokesperson killed off in a fiery crash.
William Shatner…The End.

For those of us who were real users of the Priceline.com brand we are going to see a change. Where the “name your own price” deal gave users the ability to bid on airline tickets and hotel rooms. Now they will offer a fixed price for their services and the “name your own price” philosophy will be shelved.
