‘Paul Reiser Show’ and ‘Chaos’ Gone, ‘FLASHPOINT’ Returns

Network television is no joke these days.  Back in the day, and not long ago, if a show got bad ratings it would finish up most of its episodes.  Especially a drama or comedy and definitely on ABC, NBC or CBS.

FOX, well FOX will pull your show faster than you can say Lone Star.

But these days if you start off real bad, well you’re headed to what we here at RealTVCritics.com call the canceled bin.  Chaos was on the air with CBS for only three episodes.  That show was dumped a few weeks ago because no one, and I do mean no one watched that show.  The promos were great.  The show was awful.

Oh that’s right, I  never had the motivation to watch either.

Then comes the biggest surprise of them all.  My how a few years away from a great series like Mad About You, well you think would qualify you to at least get a full season run, right?

Nope.

NBC has dropped The Paul Reiser Show after it became the network’s lowest rated comedy ever.  Once again, let’s all chant like an 80′s disco song, “no one watched that show.”  Paul Reiser told the Hollywood Reporter that NBC put the show’s premiere on the fast track and it was the “shortest ramp up in the history of television.”  The Paul Reiser Show aired only twice.

Repeats of The Office will replace Reiser’s show.  And the best news ever will bring the cop drama Flashpoint back to CBS beginning May 6th.  The Canadian produced series should never been removed from the CBS schedule.  Now we’re talking great guy TV and I can’t wait for the return of Flashpoint.
