Oh Yeah, Let’s Not Forget ‘Conan’ and Late Nights on TBS
Oh Yeah, Let’s Not Forget ‘Conan’ and Late Nights on TBS…So we talked about Conan’s new show on TBS when it launched but kinda left it alone just to get a feel for how it would be reviewed by other television critics but more important what the audience would be for his return.
Just as expected. Typical Conan. No changes in his brand. And nothing dramatic on the number of people tuning in, but some good news for TBS and its advertisers.
And really, that’s what it’s all about.
The median age for the viewers of Conan’s show is 32. Yes, 32 years of age, which is fantastic for the network’s advertising sales team, especially when you compare his audience to the ever aging viewers on Leno and Letterman. Most viewers for ‘The Tonight Show’ and ‘Late Night’ are around 50 years old.
What advertiser wants those old people, huh?
On TBS Conan has 2.1 million viewers in the 18 to 49 year age range and pulls in 1.5 million 18 to 34 year olds which on paper is not a whole heck of a lot of people watching but those figures not only surpass Leno and Letterman but top ‘The Daily Show with Jon Stewart’ on Comedy Central.
That’s huge for TBS.
Other than that let Conan be Conan and the network has a great opportunity to recycle TBS users that like comedy and sports. TBS sister network TNT will also benefit as well especially during NBA telecasts which is a perfect place to find a portion of the Conan viewer.
Conan has found home. On TBS.
