Oh Those Hollywood Egos, Neil Patrick Harris Takes on Soap Actor

This is why people don’t like Hollywood.  A guy on a soap opera turning down a chance to play a spot role on a major sitcom and he turns it down because the part is not big enough for him.

OK so let’s put some reality next to this story.  Deadline.com is reporting that Neil Patrick Harris from the CBS hit show ‘How I Met Your Mother’ and Eric Braeden from the CBS soap ‘The Young and the Restless’ are at each other.  Braeden decided that the role as Harris’s father on the prime time show was not substantial enough for him and passed on a return role during an episode.

Yes Braeden won’t return to his recurring role, if that’s what you want to call it, because it wasn’t big enough for him.

Harris tweeted his displeasure by calling Braeden a ‘Douche Bag’ and Braeden shot back and I quote “I’ve been in the business for 50 years…” and on and on with some other stuff but once some talks about the time the spent in an industry, well it’s time to end this story.

Actually Braeden used the exhaustion line as the reason he pulled out of the show he agreed to do but not to take the part is probably not a good way to plan your future when the business of soap opera production keeps fading as time goes by.
