Not Reality, But Real, ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Fiance’ Murder

This isn’t the first time a ‘real’ housewife on the Bravo set of cat-fights has been linked to events that might be featured on ‘Law & Order’ but this one involves one of the series new cast members.  Kim Richards from the recently launched ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ has an ex-fiance’ that got caught up in some dirty dealings at his commodity firm almost twenty years ago and was murdered.

Richards and John Colett were engaged when he was gunned down by a hit man in 1991.  He was involved in a commodities firm that allegedly bilked investors out of millions of dollars as he was named in a lawsuit by California regulators because of his work with the firm.

Prosecutors pinned a 30 sentence on the hit man after his arrest, determining that it was a pay for hire murder but no one was ever named for ordering that hit on Colett who was shot outside a San Fernando Valley California deli.

So that makes four ‘Housewives’ with interesting pasts.  Caroline and Dina Manzo’s father was killed mob-style back in 1983 and Danielle Staub,  the ex-stripper was busted on drug possession and extortion before changing her name.
