NBC Sends Tom Brokaw to Host California Governor Debate

This is a mess.  The California race for governor pits a very well financed, wealthy Meg Whitman on the Republican side against an old school, long time political guy Jerry Brown in one of the nastiest battles ever seen in the state.

And that’s the nicest thing anyone can say about the 2010 race for the Governor of California.

RealTVCritics.com is based in Los Angeles.  So we have to watch TV cause this is a TV blog and the commercials from both Whitman and Brown are so mean and dirty that you really want to vote for Kobe Bryant.

Unfortunately he’s not running.

On Tuesday October 12th, NBC legend Tom Brokaw will be at Dominican University of California’s Angelico Hall to host a debate between these two combatants.  He might want to bring some of Jerry Springer’s security guards to assist in keeping the Meg Whitman from taking a baseball bat and smacking Jerry Brown in his bald head.  In the meantime they might want to keep Brown from slapping Whitman around the stage as well.

Brokaw says “this election comes at a critical time for the citizens of California.”

Truly.  The state is broke.  Governor Arnold, who some thought of changing the constitution to let him run for President, couldn’t get a gig walking the current President’s dog.  And the parking authority is so aggressive in writing tickets in Los Angeles because this city is broke that they could be taking a baseball smack or a slap from the people living in this city.

In other words, this debate could be a lot of fun.
