Real TV Critics

The show premiered in 5th place last night.  Yes out all networks airing programs on Monday night, Law & Order: Los Angeles was a bust.  And Dick Wolf,  the producer of the long running franchise, was ordered to increase the integration of both Molina and Howard.

Hopefully it’s not too late.

And what a smart move for ‘Law & Order: Los Angeles’ as it enters it second series of shows on NBC.  Robert Greenblatt, President of NBC Entertainment, saw what a lot of viewers of this show.  None of the characters, and I do mean none, jumped out to take a lead role in the show.  So it was tough to watch because every week you watched, there was a different character focus that never forced you to be interested in tuning in the following week.

Now that’s changing.  “He has some problems with the show,” said Wolf of his meetings with Greenblatt. Wolf went on to say “he didn’t think it was clicking…he was supportive of having Alfred and Terrence in every episode.”

This without question is a great move for the show.  It needs someone, anyone to stand above the total cast. Howard and Molina fit the bill perfectly.  Let’s say ‘Jack McCoy’s character in the original ‘Law & Order’ certainly made you want to watch every week.

Plus this is Los Angeles.  A Latino with a major role and an African American at the level of Terrence Howard probably makes sense.
