Lineup Set for Oprah’s ‘Your OWN Show’
Out of over 143 million votes cast for the next generation of Oprah Winfrey’s brand, the group has been selected to compete for one of them to host their OWN show on the queen of daytime’s new network.
The new OWN Network launches in January and 8 finalists were chosen to compete to host ‘Your Own Show’ on the cable channel. Reality TV mogul Mark Burnett is the brains behind the Oprah brain and will be the producer of the show that will engage the contestants in booking guests, gathering information for storylines and actually doing an on camera screen test.
A ‘hosting boot camp’ will be the backdrop of the new series and the winner will get a six episode commitment from OWN. Over 15,000 people submitted either online videos or showed up at auditions that were held in several cities.
