Kelli Giddish is ‘Chase’ to ‘Special Victims Unit’ with ‘Cold Case’ Guy Danny Pino
Oh you gotta like this move by Dick Wolf, the big guy in charge of the Law & Order franchise on NBC because he’s made some significant moves with his top show Law & Order: SVU that will increase the brand of that show. With the pat time departure of Mariska Hargitay and full time loss of Chris Meloni, the producer has looked to two shows recently canceled by NBC and CBS.
Kelli Giddish. who just finished up a season with Chase on NBC, will be joining SVU as a detective when the show gets started up in the fall. Chase was not renewed for a second season following a lackluster first go round. But talking to cop series fanatics everyone loved Kelli Giddish’s roll in that series. Great to have her back on TV on a solid series.
Danny Pino is back as well from the cold you might say as he will fill the role of Chris Meloni who turned down a big contract to head to the big screen. Pino was a cast member in another Jerry Bruckheimer series Cold Case which was canceled by CBS.
Two great selections that will surely help freshen up a starting to get stale series in Law & Order: SVU.
