Keith Olbermann Dropped from NBC Football Broadcast

Maybe NBC saw Keith Olbermann as a sore eye for NBC”s ‘Football Night in America.’  Maybe they finally figured out that the ranting and raving of a liberal mad man on MSNBC was not transferable to a non-political sports audience.  Hey ESPN tried Rush Limbaugh and with one stupid, conservative statement, his career on that cable network’s football broadcast was short lived.

Or maybe we should just keep politics out of sports.  Period

Whatever the reason, ‘Football Night in America’ has taken the ever annoying, mostly abrasive Keith Olbermann off of the program that he’s hosted since 2007.  MSNBC is calling the removal nothing more than a distraction to his full time gig as host of ‘Countdown with Keith Olbermann’ since he took off most Friday nights to do the football program on Sunday evenings.

Olbermann sometimes used the Sunday night show as a political playing field.  During one broadcast, Olbermann commented on a concussion by an NFL quarterback by saying the player “could see Russia from here.”
