‘Jeopardy’ Host Alex Trebek Down and Out After Heart Attack
Hard to believe that Alex Trebek is 71 years of age and also hard to believe that he won’t be back on the set of the long running, iconic, record-breaking for years on the air game show Jeopardy. Alex Trebek was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after suffering a heart attack Saturday night.
Sony Pictures Television, who produces Jeopardy, in a released statement said the host of Jeopardy was “in good spirits and is currently undergoing observation and undergoing further testing” at Cedars but is expected to make a full recovery. The company also said Alex Trebek will be back for the start of production on Jeopardy which is slated for July.
This is Alex Trebek’s second heart attack. He suffered one in 2007. And if you recall Alex Trebek was the victim of a burglar who entered his hotel room while staying in San Francisco. Alex Trebek tore his Achilles’ heal during that event and was in a cast for six weeks.
The Sony Pictures statement said Trebek suffered a “mild heart attack” and no word yet on his release from Cedars-Sinai.
