Idris Elba’s “deeply disturbed” ‘Luther’ Renewed on BBC AMERICA

Luther fans rejoice.  One of the more twisted series on BBC AMERICA, and that’s not saying much, is returning for another season.  John Luther, better know as the incredible actor Idris Elba, is back fighting the demons of his past and his future on the BBC AMERICA production of Luther.

The first season of six shows was a limited run but there’s more to come.  No word on when the series will return to BBC America but when it does John Luther will have a new team, a new department and a new set of crimes to work on during season two.  “With an even more intense storyline awaiting him, Idris will take Luther to a whole new level,” said Perry Simon, General Manager, Channels for BBC AMERICA.

Idris Elba was nominated for a Golden Globe for his work on Luther. And just picked up an award at the 42nd NAACP Awards for Outstanding Actor in a Television Movie, Mini-Series or Dramatic Special.

“He fully deserves the prestigious awards and accolades he’s received for playing this dark and deeply disturbed character,” Simon went on to say in his statement about the return of Luther.
