“Get Out” Says CNN to Not So Smart Roland Martin After David Bechkam SuperBowl Commercial Tweets
There are good things about social media. There are bad things about social media. And it happens all the time yet people on a higher level seem to think that when comments are made on Twitter or Facebook there are no consequences.
There are consequences. And CNN anchor Roland Martin is probably out of work after making comments on his Twitter page about the SuperBowl commercial featuring superstar soccer player David Bechkam.
Martin must have had a few glasses of very expensive scotch while watching the SuperBowl this past Sunday. While watching the event and of course all of the commercials during the game, unfortunately for him the David Beckham underwear ad popped on his screen.
He hopes now that a bathroom break preceded the airing of that commercial as Roland Martin went all Tracey Morgan on his Twitter page saying “If a dude at your SuperBowl party is hyped about David Beckham’s underwear ad…smack the ish out of him.”
OK maybe a few more glasses of scotch than the aforementioned “few glasses” of scotch.
Here comes GLAAD!!!
The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation went all GLAAD on Roland Martin demanding his removal from CNN. And CNN in a heartbeat suspended him faster than Newt Gingrich drops wives. Martin sobered up and apologized for his comments saying “I was not referring to sexuality directly or indirectly,” which of course has to be the lamest apology ever.
Here’s comes GLAAD!
“CNN took a strong stand against LGBT violence and language that demeans any community,” said Rich Ferraro from GLAAD.
Stupid, Roland. Really stupid.
