Gay Television is a 'Modern Family,' Lots of 'Glee' and 'The New Normal' in America

Give in Tea Party.  It’s over.  And it will never return to the days when those in the minority stay in the background and hide their so called limitations.  As in the gay community.

Especially in the media.  More in the television business these days than ever.  The so called Gay Media Mafia has taken over the TV industry and it’s daytime and prime time content.  Yes people there is a Gay Media Mafia based in Los Angeles and the entertainment business and it has become one of the most powerful groups in America.

Television is simple Glee these days.  There is no longer a Modern Family in America as there has been in the past.  And if anyone thought that we are facing The New Normal in this country just those three names of top television content is the answer.

Television executives are not afraid of bringing the new world order to our TV screens.  Even in daytime.  Throw in the fact that Ellen DeGeneres has the hottest show on daytime television along with the solid start for the Steve Harvey Show and that Michael Strahan has partnered with Kelly Ripa on LIVE with Kelly & Michael and you can see the changes happening all across the spectrum as television is stepping well beyond the old normal to bring us shows like The New Normal.

If you haven’t watched The New Normal well you’re missing one of TV’s best new shows.  NBC was smart to launch The New Normal weeks before other networks begin airing their new content.  The New Normal is fantastic.  Two gay guys kissing on television is a far cry from what television has offered in the past.  The Cosby Show is not how America perceives itself.  Normal families don’t exist anymore in America.  If you look at most normal families well then you have an episode of Dr. Phil.  That’s where the so-called normal families end up.

Want to talk more about The New Normal.  Remember when people talked about The Maury Show as a place where minorities came on to find out if they were the father?  Remember how some would say “their all black” when it came to the guests on that daytime show?  Well welcome to the new world order as I say.  Half the guests are white on The Maury Show and now that’s The New Normal.

Modern Family broke the mold for gay content on television.  So did Glee.  You can tell those behind the scenes of both shows are part of the gay community.  Because the show treats gay content in the proper way, unlike the days when white writers tried their best develop shows based on African American characters.

Tried and failed.

Modern Family and Glee are fantastic programming.  As The New Normal grows in to the content that will no doubt help NBC get out of the prime time ratings doldrums, the use of more minority voices behind and in front of the camera will clearly be important as America steps beyond the conservative themes that are no longer prominent.

It’s amazing the changes taking place and it’s certainly about time.
