Former ‘Today Show’ Host Katie Couric Headed Back to NBC?
NBC is apparently interested in Katie Couric. CBS has apparently had talks internally to buy her out of her $15,000,000 a year contract which the network finally says may be a bit much for the distant third ranked evening news broadcast.
‘The Simpsons’ may get more viewers during that time period than the ‘CBS Evening News with Katie Couric.’
After enough time maybe CBS executives will finally admit they made a mistake hiring Couric from NBC, thinking that she could bring viewers over from her hosting duties on ‘The Today Show.’ And a change could be coming with the possiblity that Katie could end up back at NBC.
Problem is NBC CEO Jeff Zucker, who would make the decision to bring her back to the network, could be out of work himself when the final signatures are placed on the sale of NBC to Comcast.
Never take a job from the guy who might not be there the day you start.
We thought, like many, that this was a mistake. Especially after CBS News decided to show a picture of Tom Cruise with Katie Holmes and their new baby during the first week of her anchor gig on the ‘Evening News.’
