‘Falling Skies’ Certainly is No ‘The Walking Dead’ Simply Awful

Oh my this could be TNT’s worst effort ever.  Surely to be strong in the ratings but Falling Skies could be the worst summer effort ever.  I could even recommend The Glades over Falling Skies and I really can’t handle that A&E show which is really bad.

First off everybody seems to be in a good mood.  Lots of smiles for a bunch of people who have gone through a world annihilation from a bunch of mechanical aliens.  But everybody seems to be in a good mood.  I’m sorry but if aliens have taken my life and completely turned it upside, taking all of the kids and turning them in to zombies, the thought of smiling and having a fun time just doesn’t makes sense.

And nobody, let me repeat, nobody can act.  The damn aliens are frankly more engaging than any of the characters.  Ben, the son taken by the aliens and Noah Wyle (Tom Mason) character’s son was the best actor and he was a zombie.

And the second hour of this new series pitted his crew against a gang of human thugs.  Kinda thought the fight was against the aliens not a bunch of biker dudes.  Seems the writers would want to set up that battle before bringing in a bunch of thugs who held them captive for a minute.

And the thugs couldn’t act either.

Too much levity in this one.  Not enough reality that would made this worth a true sci fi effort.  Falling Skies falls off the DVR chart as of next week if this one doesn’t get any better.   Expected more from Steven Spielberg after all of the TNT hype.

TNT airs Falling Skies, at least for now, Sundays at 10PM on TNT.  Watch it now.  The only way it gets a second season is if Steven Spielberg’s name gets it from a respect arena.  Other than that, this one is really bad.
