Dustin Hoffman in First Major TV Role, Joins Dennis Farina in HBO Drama
He hasn’t been on a television program in 40 years but he could not resist the call from director Michael Mann and now Dustin Hoffman is on board to star in ‘Luck’ coming from HBO. Dennis Farina and John Ortiz have already been cast in roles for the pilot which focuses on the world of horse racing and gambling.
Hoffman will play the lead as he was just released from prison and hooks up with Farina (Gus Economou) his former limo driver and Ortiz (Turo Escalante), a successful horse trainer, to put together a slimy plan at the racetrack.
The pilot is to be shot sometime this spring. Hoffman has another movie coming out titled ‘Barney’s Version’ with Paul Giamatti.
