Dudley Moore - 'Arthur' -
I always loved the opening of this movie. The best seven minute segment with the late, great Dudley Moore as a drunken, rich guy in the film ‘Arthur.’ That’s all the video you needed to see to know this was going to be a re-make at some point and now it’s a reality. “Modern Family’ director Jason Winer has jumped on board this project and with the massive success of the TV program on ABC, this looks to be a really good choice.
The 1981 classic comedy got an Emmy nomination for Dudley Moore. And whoever will be cast to play the role will have some large shoes to fill. So at this point no cast has been set. The movie did win an award for original song “Best That You Can Do” by several hit wonder artist Christopher Cross.
Winer directed 10 episodes of the television show and won a Directors Guild of America award for his work on the show which is part of the re-birth of solid Wednesday night comedy on ABC.
