‘Degrassi: The Next Generation’ Takes on Transgender Storyline

Underage drinking parties, knocked up teen, you name it, the ‘Degrassi’ brand has take on a lot of serious topics over the ten years on the air and this season will be no different.  The Canadian produced show has created different versions for American TV in the past but the storyline of the transgender character will be seen everywhere.

‘Degrassi: The Next Generation’ will introduce “Adam” who will present himself as a boy but was born a girl.  Jordan Todosey (Jordan is a girl) will play the role.  She’s cut her hair in a more male style for the producers of the show and her blond look will now be darkened.

The long running ‘Degrassi’ franchise began taking on such topics in 1980 under the original titled ‘The Kids of Degrassi,’ then ‘Degrassi Junior High,’  next was ‘Degrassi High’ and finally ‘Degrassi: The Next Generation.’
