‘Criminal Minds’ Dumping Female Cast Members

And doing so to cut costs. That’s the word from CBS as producers ax A.J. Cook (Agent Jennifer Jareau) from the show completely by not renewing her contract and reduce the number of episodes Paget Brewster (Agent Emily Prentiss) appears this upcoming season.
With the number of cast members involved in the day to day production of this expensive show, CBS told producers to cut costs and eliminate a few talent salaries from ‘Criminal Minds.’
Cook may have a few episodes to wrap up her character but the loss of these characters may not have much of an impact on the popularity of the show although hard core fans are protesting vigorously against the removal of these two characters.
Quite frankly Kirsten Vangness, the only full time female character who plays Penelope Garcia is the best on the show and her role should be more prominent in the upcoming seasons for the program.
