CBS, TNT, TBS, TruTV and ‘March Madness’ Gets Madder with New Agreement

The audience numbers for this past year’s Final Four were spectacular.  Some of the highest figures in five years for viewership and now the NCAA have added more teams to the annual tournament.  With the addition of 3 more teams, bringing the Sunday Selection Show on CBS up from 65 to 68 teams, the NCAA announced a new 14 year agreement with the mentioned networks.

In 2011 all games and we do mean every game leading to the Final Four will be shown live on CBS, TNT, TBS or TruTV under the new agreement.  This is the first time in the NCAA’s 73 year history that you won’t have network’s switching you in and out of games even if a team is up 50 points.  It really sucks when you’re watching your favorite team beating the crap out of its opponent and the network switches to Bledsoe State versus Brevard Community College.

OK maybe that’s a bit much but you get my point.

CBS still gets the regional’s leading up to the Championship game.
