Why You Don’t Date L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa

I really don’t remember the reporter from the local Los Angeles Spanish speaking television station who dated the Mayor of Los Angeles but her career advancement was pretty much stunted when it was revealed she was doing nice stories about Antonio Villaraigosa and, er, uh, doing him as well.

One down.

Next comes Lu Parker, another general assignment reporter who was caught doing the nasty with Antonio as well.  And now comes word that her time with local TV station KTLA is slowly turning a new corner.

Like a corner in Compton.

Lu Parker has been under a simmering fire since she started dating the mayor.  Now she’s been bumped to special correspondent at KTLA which means she won’t be getting much air time at the station.

Yeah, it must be the end of the year when all businesses start cleaning house.

Lu released a statement saying “I’m excited at this juncture in my career…to evolve in new areas.”

Oh yeah she’s getting bounced.

Lu also is working on her own project that improves the lives of abandoned animals and at risk youth according to a report that strangely enough put animals in front of kids but whatever.  Believe me there is no credibility when you have a  reporter waking up next to the Mayor of America’s second largest city.  None at all.

And you can bet those in the KTLA newsroom can’t wait for her departure. Really how can you have an open discussion about politics at the station when the person sitting in the cubicle next to you is sleeping with the Mayor.

Bad move to have kept her a minute after the relationship was announced.  But we wish her the best.  Sorry but once again another female reporter blows her career over poor judgment.
