Cable TV Losing Subscribers In Huge Numbers

cable-tv-logoWhich again the know it alls are attributing to the economy.  No crap Sherlock.  Having cable TV or any kind of service is a luxury these days.  The costs have leveled off a bit but I recommend that you dump any cable service, keep it off until you can come back as a new customer and they will welcome you back with great deals on cost.

Just a suggestion.

Cable TV lost over 700,000 subscribers from April through June of 2010.  Now they say these people dropping cable are not going to Hulu and other online services.  They’re just getting rid of it.  And other services like Verizon Fios, Direct TV and Dish Network are growing.

Damn economy.  And it’s going to get worse.  You saw those housing numbers showing that there are more unsold homes in America today.  So those homes don’t need cable or any other service if no one is living there.

Unemployment means cable gets cut or kids graduating from college not getting an apartment with 15 of their friends and opting to move back home to mommy and daddy.  And even my idea of cheap renewals aren’t working.  Nobody is even taking those deals.

I’m surprised that this isn’t a bigger story.  Really.  This is big.  Really big.  And not a good thing for the future of television.
