Brian Williams Talks Leno on Letterman, Katie Couric Back to NBC, Yes a Bit Confusing

OK we thought this was pretty funny.  Brian Williams from ‘The NBC Nightly News’  did a guest segment on ‘The Late Show’ with David Letterman’ on CBS.  And word has it that Katie Couric, who came in with the lowest ratings in 20 years over at ‘The CBS Evening News’ is more than likely going to be bought out of that contract and could be headed back to NBC.

This network thing is getting a bit confusing.  So let us help.

Watch the video of a very uncomfortable Brian Williams who was forced to talk about Jay Leno and his quirky style of hosting ‘The Tonight Show.’  It’s pretty funny.  But rarely does Brian get flustered and David Letterman could care less so watching it is kind of straining but really worth the time.  Check that out below.

Then the never-ending rumor that Katie Couric’s days are numbered at CBS’s evening news program as watching that 30 minutes gets you to tune out quickly as she has never become comfortable in the anchor chair at the network that battles for a  fourth place finish behind first place Brian Williams, second place ‘World News Tonight’ on ABC and whatever show airs on the local independent station in your city.

Looks like CBS is about to dump her but NBC big guy Jeff Zucker wants her back.  In what role, well talent over at NBC are talking to their agents regularly to see where she could be placed as on-air talent.  Why CBS isn’t moving her to boost the morning show at that network is a surprise.  I’d place her there in a heartbeat but what do I know.

Zucker was a guest on MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe’ program hosted by Joe Scarborough and told him “if the time were right I think that’s something we would look at.”
