Boris Kodjoe has a heavy load to carry with this new series.  He’s the lead in the new NBC pilot ‘Undercovers’ and as an African American flies against what major broadcast networks have done in producing dramas.  Leads usually go to white males, but hey why not?

Boris was last seen in the Showtime version of ‘Soul Food’ and dang he looks good.  This will get NBC’s female audience interested in the series.  But the female lead hasn’t been named yet so we don’t know if she’s going to be a black or white.  The two characters are married by way so whichever way this goes it will be a change for the network.

Is America ready for this?  We’ll see. 

Gerald McRaney is also cast for the show.  He’ll be the boss at the CIA for the couple.  The series they say is a cross between ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith’ and ‘The Bourne Identity’ and focuses on the pair working together as spies.
