‘Bob’s Burgers’ Gutter Humor Perfect for FOX
There are jokes about child molestation. One about autism and itchy crotches. Yes remember this is FOX so should we expect anything less?
FOX launches ‘Bob’s Burgers’ Sunday night joining their “animation domination” lineup that includes ‘The Simpsons,’ ‘Family Guy’ and ‘The Cleveland Show.’ So expecting quality from any of these shows would be deterrent to keeping young, male viewers tuning in to FOX on Sunday nights.
Bob runs his burger shop next to a crematorium and across the street from a pizza joint. It’s a family run business that includes his wife Linda and their three kids. The Hollywood Reporter’ Tim Goodman stomps all over it for its low end humor but Sunday nights on FOX is the place for what he calls “a bunch of comics playing to the back of the room.”
Goodman does call ‘Bob’s Burgers’ a “good fit” at 8:30PM sandwiched between ‘The Simpsons’ and ‘Family Guy’ as the writer believes FOX is requesting that the writers of ‘Bob’s’ write like they work for the two set up shows.
