AMC’s ‘Mad Men’ to Become Barbie Dolls
OK this is kind of cool. AMC’s hit show ‘Mad Men’ had opened up this cable network to a lot of people who considered them nothing but a bunch of old movies. Now this interesting and we think pretty smart marketing move. Mattel is now getting ready to market the characters of the hit show starting in July and there will be product sold in specialty stores and online.
Here’s what you will be able to get your hands on when only 7,000 to 10,000 pieces will be available. Creative director Don Draper, wife Betty, agency partner Roger Sterling and Joan Holloway are all part of the of the ‘Mad Men’ dolls.
Mattel is getting the rights to characters from LionsGate, which produces ‘Mad Men’ so expect to see other dolls from the toy maker. The two web sites that will be marketing the product are amctv.com and barbiecollector.com so get your credit cards out and start buying.
