$225 Million Weekend Gets ‘FX’ to Buy Rights to ’2012′
Well that didn’t take long. A monster weekend for the opening of ’2102′ in domestic theaters and FX doesn’t take a breather to grab the television rights to air the movie. The Sony Pictures produced film will get its launch at the beginning of 2012 on the cable network. The cost for the now epic film could bring in over $24 million dollars which FX will have to pay out to Sony.
FX has also put up about $8 million to be the first to broadcast Woody Harrelson’s ‘Zombieland’ on cable TV. That’s expected to debut on the network at the end of next year. Figure Halloween 2010.
