ABC/ESPN Top Basketball Analyst Mark Jackson New Head Coach, Golden State Warriors

Finally.  After a long haul for the New York basketball native, Mark Jackson got himself a head coaching job in the National Basketball Association.

Now he gets to put some of his solid basketball analysis to work with the Golden State Warriors as the top analyst for ABC/ESPN’s coverage of the NBA Finals gets the lead gig with the west coast based team.  The former NBA point guard for the New York Knicks and the Indiana Pacers is a brilliant basketball mind and had been rumored  to be in line for several head coaching jobs in the NBA the day he sat down in the analyst’s chair.

Jackson has never coached a day in his life in the NBA either as a head coach or an assistant.  So this is a big risk for him and the Warriors who have had limited competitiveness over the years and need a big name which Jackson has right now with his work on ABC/ESPN.  He’s got a 3 year $6 million deal to coach the Warriors.
