Wow, just line them up.  Divorce after divorce after divorce in show business.  And if you look at the entertainment business as a whole you could also throw in a little Kobe and Vanessa Bryant in the world of sports as another high profile break-up in the last couple of three years.

J-Lo and Marc are officially done.  Rumors abound about the union of Will Smith and his wife Jada.  Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries joke of a wedding and divorce.  Kelsey Grammer’s really high profile divorce which was really nasty along with Arnold the Sperminator and Maria Shriver.

And that’s just a short list.

Now comes word that Heidi Klum and Seal are about to call it a day for their marriage as word is around that paperwork will be filed in Los Angeles citing those as usual “irreconcilable differences” as the cause.

So that’s the report from TMZ.com.

Let’s head on over to People Magazine.  They’re reporting that the couple is “fighting” but “they’re not divorcing” yet another quote has them “weathering a rough patch” according to People.

Heidi Klum and Seal have been married since 2005 with four kids between them.  Three biological and the oldest girl a product of Heidi’s previous relationship as Seal legally adopted her.

Here we go with another creative commercial from those creative folks who want to sell us cars.  Specifically sell us Volkswagens.  And again we get a blast from the past with a Star Wars theme to this commercial but instead of that cute little kid dressed as Darth Vader this time we get singing dogs.

Yes singing dogs.  Or is it barking dogs?  Well barking dogs barking the Star Wars theme song and this commercial is absolutely funny and fascinating.  One of those times you must ask the question “how did they do that?”

The dogs bark the tune of the Imperial March and do it real well.  Enjoy.

Well as we said in the story below, the people tuning in to watch American Idoldropped to the ground like one of Tiger Woods girlfriends and the end of year three of Ryan Seacrest’s contract as host of the show could be coming to an end.

Seacrest signed a three year, $45 million contract with American Idol a couple of years back and now comes word that the radio DJ, TV show producer, restaurateur, future cable TV owning guy may be on the outs at the show.  Hey let’s be real when the ratings keep dropping as they have over the last few years to pay Ryan 15 million big ones gets a bit costly for the network.

According to reports from several source, Ryan Seacrest has been asked to take a pay cut at American Idol and he apparently doesn’t seem to be happy about the drop.  In fact the cut seem to be so significant that producer Nigel Lythgoe says he will make up the difference in the reduction in salary paid to Seacrest according to the folks over at TMZ.com.

'American Idol' - Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson and Ryan Seacrest

Oh wow!  American Idol is back?  A lot of viewers simply forgot to tune in compared to previous years but that was expected as American Idoll is nowhere near the show that it used to be and anyone that expected anything more is dreaming.

American Idoll premiered last night on FOX and one way to gauge the prominence of the long running competition show is how it trends on search engines.  Did anyone see the words American Idol on a Google search?  Nope cause I check what’s hot and trending every day.

Is the excitement, the vigor, the energy of American Idol in the past?  Well close to 25% less peeps tuned in to American Idollast night which is not good for the franchise.  Now let’s be clear.  FOX still won the night beating out all competitive networks but losing five million viewers is not the way to launch a show that used to be the foundation of the FOX Network.

For the record the drop in last night’s premiere was the biggest decline since the show began shedding viewers over the last few years.

Sonny and Brenda on 'General Hospital' ABC Daytime

The whole soap opera genre is dying.  Well let’s be real, it’s pretty much dead.  With a handful of shows left on the air the one that stands out for now is ABC’s General Hospital.  The long running soap has the most foundation as it is still on the air and has some audience left that makes this thought by the programmers over at ABC a bit brilliant.

In an article over at Media Life Magazine, ABC Television is considering moving General Hospital to a stripped nighttime program this summer.  Meaning it will be on every night, Monday through Friday, at the same on the network.

With the new Katie Couric daytime program coming to ABC with big expectations, the time period where General Hospital runs on most stations is the prime location for her show.  General Hospital has been running at 3PM pretty much everywhere across the local TV landscape and that’s the slot where Katie Couric’s new show is to be placed.  So General Hospital has to either find a new time period which is pretty much gone on the ABC  daytime program schedule or look at primetime where if could find a new audience.  And maybe an increase in the number of viewers.

Also this move could provide a good test for ABC and other networks.  Right now this type of stripped programming works very well on Spanish language networks Univision and Telemundo with their novella content.  Both networks have increased viewers over the past years with that type of programming.  Could this work for ABC and could this adjust a landscape for network television that pretty much failed with the NBC/Jay Leno project?

What!!!!  What the heck am I talking about you ask?  Rob Lowe is now providing breaking news to the sports world.

Huh?

Yeah now the sports world has to rely on a TV actor to get the scoop on one of the NFL’s most talked about quarterbacks in history.  Seems Rob Lowe pulled a fast one even on Charles Barkley by Tweeting that superstar Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning was going to retire by the end of this day.

Now for most of you in Eastern and Central time the day is over.  But we’re on Pacific time and we’re waiting, we are still waiting for that announcement that still hasn’t come.  But we can say that at least someone has given us news that could predict the future of the Indianapolis Colts.  Which would be no future if Peyton Manning actually retires.

Which is really interesting because the Indiana Pacers of the NBA seem to have the hearts of those in The Hoosier State which is a huge switch in sports in Indiana.  Rob Lowe from NBC’s Parks and Recreation Tweeted in Al Roker fashion that “my people” tell him that the 35 year old quarterback is calling the end to his NFL career.

But wait, there’s more and it’s from Peyton’s Dad and the owner of the NFL Indianapolis Colts.  Archie Manning,who spent many years playing for the New Orleans Saints when they really were awful, laughed at Lowe’s Tweet saying it wasn’t true.  And Colt’s owner Robert Irsay said Lowe will return as an actor in an “epic remake” of a porn movie.

Yeah, Rob Lowe might want to stick to acting.

Don’t listen to this if you don’t want to throw up.  I’ve been on probably 10 cruises over my lifespan and if I knew assholes like this irresponsible Captain was running the show I might never pay for another cruise ever again.

Just watching the news and seeing the video content and interviews of the disaster, and this is a disaster, of the sinking of the Costa Concordia was enough to make you wreak of fear.  The fear that the passengers on this ship must have felt when Captain Francheso Schettino decided to play cruise director and play around with the direction of a multi-million dollar cruise ship.

But when you listen to this audio tape of Schettino and the port authority as he begs the Captain to get back on the ship to provide him with the vital information to save lives, you can hear in the voice of the guy asking for information that he’s scared as hell.

Really scared as hell because he can’t convince the Captain to stay on the ship and be, well a real Captain.

If you have any plans to travel by cruising this may not be what you want to hear.  This guy scatters like a roach when the lights come on.  Scatters.

This is simply disturbing.  This guy would be given the death if this was a case in the United States.  And he deserves nothing less.  A coward.  Pure yellow.

Never have I heard anything like this before.  Never.

Madonna at the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards

Everyone knew Elton John was turning in to a crabby old man.  Every time the media gets involved with the superstar singer there seems to be this chip on his shoulder that makes you just want to say, “wow, Elton John, you really are turning in to a crabby, old man.”

Now his husband David Furnish is whining about his partner Elton John and his loss to the diva of all divas Madonna after she grabbed the winning spot for Best Original Song for her movie W.E. last night at the Golden Globe awards.

Let’s see, one of the biggest gay power couples in the world versus one of the biggest music star divas in the history of music…West Hollywood is in a tizzy about who to support on this battle.

Madonna co-wrote the Golden Globe winning song and was pitted up against Elton John’s Hello, Hello from Gnome and Juliet and Mary J. Bilge’s Living Proof from The Help.  And once Madge got the award, let the cat-fight begin as David Furnish called her win a feat that has “nothing to do with merit” and her speech on stage “embarrassing in its narcissism.”

The Facebook mention trashing Madonna was removed from public view but Towleroad got their hands on a screenshot of David’s rant and you can read his full comments on the photo attached to this story.

No comment yet from Madonna and don’t expect her to get in to a flap with Furnish except to maybe say “see you at halftime of this year’s Superbowl.”
