‘Occupy Wall Street’ Commercials Occupy TV Now (Video)
So what city is not under siege. And we’re not talking “under siege” as in a Steven Seagal series of movies we’re talking about how American cities are now becoming part of the political process by really ticking off the people who run Wall Street and what a perfect weekend to start an advertising campaign.
Why?
Well that Bank Transfer Day movement got a lot of people to switch their money from the big company owned properties like Bank of America and Wells Fargo to your local credit union. Or what I did. Move my business account from Wells Fargo to Comerica Bank, a small western region institution.
Well now the Occupy Wall Street movement is taking to television by now running commercials that started this weekend. There’s not a whole heck of a lot of funding for OWS and this commercial campaign but you will see them running on Bloomberg, ESPN, CBS Sports, History Channel and other outlets airing through Monday.
How did they raise the capital to run these commercials? 168 citizens put up a little over $6,000 to produce and purchase the advertising time.
If you’ve been living under a rock over the last month or so, the Occupy Wall Street movement has targeted big U.S. corporations who are not reinvesting in to this country by hiring employees or in the banks case not loaning any money to individuals or small businesses.
