OK so we gotta give this old school entertainer a bit of a break. Doing these satellite media tours are dang difficult. A satellite media tour has the person being interviewed stuck in a room, alone, speaking via satellite to upwards of 50 different television and radio stations all across the world.
I’ve actually sat through one of these satellite media tours. They are the most boring events you will ever experience.
Guess Harry Belafonte feels the same way.

Give the guy a break. He was born in 1927 which by my calculation makes him about 127 years old but when he was doing one of those tours he seems to have fallen asleep when one TV station wanted to interview the actor/singer/activist.
Um, Harry Belafonte was completely unresponsivie.
His rep says he was meditating. Yeah, right.
Harry Belafonte for real is 84 years old. Too damn old to be up at 3 o’clock in the morning doing a satellite media tour. But this video is funny.

Mariska Hargitay has had a crazy year. Not only is she losing sleep at home with husband Peter Hermann but she’s losing sleep on Law & Order: SVU because she’s lost one detective partner and gained two more.
Me thinks the loss of sleep at home is for real.

Mariska Hargitay and her husband have dipped back in to the adoption pool and taken home Andrew Nicolas Hargitay Hermann. The new baby is now added to their previous adopted girl Amaya Josephine who they adopted six months ago. The couple also has a biological child August who is 5 years old.
A source told US Weekly that “they are very tired and overwhelmed with the change.”

Every time I want to start my “Free Lindsay Lohan” demonstrations in an attempt to get the same exposure as the Occupy Wall Street protests, they let her out on bail. I can’t even get the signs painted before she’s out on bail.
Well I haven’t written a story about Lindsay Lohan in over a month. I’m almost at that time point with our other popular target Charlie Sheen so maybe he will do something stupid soon so we can get this blog back on track.

Well let me get back to the oft troubled Lindsay Lohan. Seems community service didn’t pan out well for her as she was kicked out of the women’s facility where she was to perform her duties. Guess speaking to homeless or abused women was not in her plans for the 300 plus hours she was supposed to serve.
Los Angeles prosecutors were licking their chops after Lindsay was set free from her duties. Or should we say prosecutors were like a bunch of fat kids sitting in front of a double chocolate covered cake. They asked the judge to revoke her probation and throw her back in prison.

Lindsay was taken in to custody this morning as the no nonsense judge was having none of her usual horse crap putting her behind bars.
But not so fast! Lindsay Lohan posted bail at the $100,000 level shortly after being handcuffed in her Vera Wang dress and taken back to be booked and mug shot again. We stopped using Lindsay Lohan mugshots because, well we get confused as to which one is for which arrest. So we make her look good by using this photo, which is a real good shot of Lindsay Lohan. Not looking like a Jerry Springer guest, that awful make-up job she did on herself for yesterday’s court appearance.
Note to Lindsay…never do your own make-up…ever again!
Probation was given to Lindsay after she ripped off a necklace from a jewelry store in Santa Monica, California. Today she was supposed to start a new round of community service, this time at the L.A. County Coroner’s office. Maybe, just maybe, she will regret not showing up at that women’s center. Hmmmm…live women, dead bodies? You pick!

We’ve uploaded several of the antics of Family Feud host Steve Harvey. He may have this job forever. What he adds to the show may have producers going a bit crazy because he breaks away from format on a regular basis and this video is one of those that will go down in the Steve Harvey annals of great television.
Now I gotta say this. Hosting Family Feud is a perfect place for Steve Harvey. I’m sure he would like to take his week long shot at sitting in the chair overseeing Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and burn the video.
Yuck is all I can say.
But Steve Harvey is absolutely fabulous. Without question he has added an element to the show that no other past host, and there have be a lot of really good hosts, has ever brought to Family Feud. Ratings all across the board are up on the show and he has returned Family Feud to the level of excellence the show had lost over the last 5 years.

ION Television bills itself as “positively entertaining.” And tonight there will be positive entertainment coming to the network that is more known for repeats of Criminal Minds, Ghost Whisperer, Without a Trace, Monk and paid programming. ION Television launches the regular season version of the original series/crime drama Flashpoint tonight.
The CBS summer replacement returns to American TV on ION Television. If you like great cop drama, you will like Flashpoint. Without question one of CBS TV’s solid summer shows gets a full time run now with all new episodes.

As a regular viewer of this show watching past seasons of Flashpoint is important to get up to date on the personal relationships with its major characters, but for some of its viewers the content of the stories seen on Flashpoint are all about the consistent level of solid detailed drama during each episode. If you like the ION Television repeats of Criminal Minds or the activity you see in CSI: Miami, Flashpoint is one of those series that captures fans of the genre.
Flashpoint debuted on CTV in 2008. It’s a Canadian produced show that does an excellent job from an American viewer standpoint to hide the fact that the fictitious Strategic Response Unit is based in Toronto.
Hugh Dillon (Ed Lane) and Enrico Colantoni (Greg Parker) lead the SRU on events that are SWAT related through episodes of Flashpoint. Any high risk catastrophe that the regular cops can’t handle, the SRU jumps in to action to integrate themselves in that event. Dillon’s character is the boss in the field while Sgt. Greg Parker is the paper pusher running the unit but also gets himself in the action during all necessary calls taken by the SRU.
In a conference call today Colantoni talked about how real law enforcement reacts to him when they recognize his brand on Flashpoint saying “they discreetly say thank you they are often villified in other dramas and we take great in showing first responders with a lot of humanity.”
But the back stories on Flashpoint are engaging as well. We’ve learned a lot about the relationship of the team which includes Amy Jo Johnson (Jules Callaghan), David Paetkau (Sam Braddock), Sergio Di Zio (Spike Scarlatti) and Cle Bennett (Raf Rousseau) which rounds out the main characters in Flashpoint. Personal issues about among and around all of the team members which adds a cool emotional element to the show.
Flashpoint is great television. Never missed an episode during its three and a half year run on CBS and now a reason to watch this original series come to ION Television. Tonight and every Tuesday night at 10PM everywhere but Central time at 9PM.

And let’s remember Mitchell Musso is not even old enough to drink alcohol in the State of California or pretty much anywhere else in America. He’s only 20 years old and the actor from the Hannah Montana series and a couple of other Disney movies pretty much ruined any return to that company’s brand as he was pulled over in Burbank, California and arrested for driving under the influence.
Mitchell Musso was pulled over in his Mercedes around 4AM Sunday morning as he sped past an accident while cops were slowing down traffic because of the mishap. Cops allegedly went up to Musso’s car and smelled alcohol on his breath and decided to give him a breathalyzer.
Well he blew the unit over the California legal limit of .08 and was busted immediately. He was booked and release on his own recognizance after posting $5,000 bail.

Well if Oprah can launch OWN, her own television network, why can’t Ronald McDonald? You don’t see a lot of Ronald McDonald a lot these days in the marketing of the burger chain as McDonald’s has changed its image over the last several years from a fast food joint to a bit more upscale quick service fare. Now you’re going to get a bit more entertainment from the fast food giant.
McDonald’s will be launching its own in-house television network inside their restaurants to entertain customers that come in to dine. The food chain will be installing 42 inch and 46 inch monitors in their locations which will include a mix of news, sports and other entertainment to keep customers engaged when they visit. In addition McDonald’s hopes that those in their locations stay longer and of course spend more money on their product.
Viewers will see content change every twenty minutes on their screen which will include 90 seconds of McDonald’s product being promoted during that period. The network has already made ties with Mark Burnett’s reality television media empire and KABC TV in Los Angeles will help in providing content to the network as well.
The company did a roll out in Las Vegas and San Diego with success looking to put them in all of their restaurants and the TV monitors will be visual to 2/3 of the locations where customers stand or eat.
And yes commercials will run on the network as well.

So finally, after several months of changes behind the scenes of producers and writers for AMC’s The Walking Dead, the second round begins of the series that’s made dead men and women walking the new in thing on television.
Everybody wants to be like The Walking Dead and the series is now back in action on AMC.
And it was a huge response by the show’s current fans and new fans. The Walking Dead, episode one of season two, became the biggest telecast for audience delivery ever for a drama on cable.
Last night’s 90 minute episode drew in 7.3 million total viewers.
Season one was only six episodes. And that was enough for The Walking Dead to become one of the best new series on television.
Getting the Center for Disease Control, where this group of survivors hoped to fine peace and happiness after six episodes of fighting and evading zombies, the crew is back on the road for new adventures with The Walking Dead. Which makes this series fun to watch but this show also makes you feel as if you’re traveling with this band of survivors.
Can’t wait for all new episodes of the new season of The Walking Dead.

This took a lot of effort and planning. No doubt. To get 70,000 fans in one stadium to pull off a stunt like this is so very cool. There’s no way you could pull this one off anywhere but in the middle of the country. Elsewhere they’d be fighting over the execution or robbing someone in the parking lot of the stadium.
This past weekend at the Iowa-Northwestern football game this pre-game effort was clearly dramatic. Once you watch this video you will ask yourself several times how they set this up so well. All you can do is watch and wonder.

So the re-make is here. Footloose is working it’s way to number one at the top of the movie chart this weekend if all goes well. One thing about re-makes. When you’re 18 to 24 years of age, which is this the core movie-going audience, doing a re-do of a movie that was in the theaters 27 years ago is not something you remember. You either weren’t born or you were still pissing in your diapers when Kevin Bacon (who?) starred in the original.

Now Dancing With The Stars Julianne Hough is part of the new do-over of Footloose. With other movies like the really heavily promoted Ides of March and Dolphin Tale also premiering this weekend and the Footloose not really steaming up the critics reviews, Footloose still seems to be the new movie that will launch Julianne Hough’s movie career to new heights.
She’s got the big screen version of Rock of Ages on her list featuring a cast of names like Tom Cruise, Russell Brand and Will Forte, Julianne Hough’s career is about to blow-up big time. Voice over work in the animated Not Born to Be Gladiators and Diablo Cody’s Lamb of God, things can only get better for the Dancing With The Stars participant.
