Now comes some real competition for TV viewers of satellite and cable providers. Most of us already are watching some content on our computers regularly but soon viewing TV programs on a big screen in your homes could become a thing of the past. Or you’ll be connecting your computer to your TV non- stop.
The monster online video content provider YouTube is getting in to the production business developing partnerships with some of the biggest names in television. They include Ashton Kutcher, the World Wrestling Federation, Home Shopping Network, Anthony Zuiker (CSI creator), the Wall Street Journal and Warner Bros.
There will be 100 available channels featuring content that runs longer than the short term content you regularly see on YouTube. There will even be an Hispanic channel featuring Sofia Vergara from ABC’s Modern Family to reach out to that quickly growing segment of the population.
Most of the channels aren’t set to launch until 2012 and will offer up to 25 hours or new content every day.
With three of the four networks consistently shedding audience every year, YouTube is in prime position to grab viewers looking to watch content beyond regular TV. This without question is the biggest push to eliminate the big four networks ever in the new world of digital video.

Yeah we’re believing this one. If you watched Steven Tyler on the Today Show Thursday he pretty much said he had a fall in the bathroom of his hotel room that blackened his eye and knocked out a couple of teeth.

He said it was a stomach issue that caused him to tip over in the bathroom in a Peru hotel during his Latin American tour and told Matt Lauer that he did not relapse from his past history with drugs and alcohol. “I get that people think that,” said Tyler on the Today Show. He want on to say “anyone who knows anyone who uses substances wouldn’t be up at this hour having a talk with Matt Lauer and the rest of America.”
But still Steven Tyler really looked messed up from the pictures released by his people after the alleged fall. When asked by Lauer about his being sober Steven Tyler responded “it’s not the issue.”
The Aerosmith Latin American tour will continue. In fact he went on stage with sunglasses to cover his busted up eye and when he took them off the audience cheered. “It’s all about playing to the people,” said Steven Tyler.

And what a perfect place for Charlie Sheen and his new comedy project. Perfect. FX is the male version of Bravo which is so focused on women with he Real Housewives series and if you want to reach out the viewers that watch the Sons of Anarchy well Mr. Sheen will fit right in to this network.

Charlie Sheen needs to thank Tyler Perry for his deal with FX. Similar to what Perry has with TBS, Charlie Sheen’s agreement is based purely on performance on the back end. The initial call is for 10 episodes to start with Anger Management and then if the show reaches a specified audience threshold and additional 90 episodes will be ordered by FX. Which is exactly the deal Perry has with FX for Meet the Browns and House of Payne on TBS.
FX already is in the Charlie Sheen business with repeats of his Two and a Half Men series in syndication so the actor’s brand is already part of the network. And with News Corp with full or partial ownership 14 networks including FX, most of them have a male skew which will be great for cross promotion of Anger Management.

But the level of Bernie Madoff is unimaginable. So much so that ABC News veteran Barbara Walters, who has her own low life in her life in former ex-husband Merv Adelson who does nothing but rip people off, had a one on one sit down with the disgraced Bernie Madoff.
Only pen and paper were allowed in with Walters at Butner Cederal Corrections Prison in Raleigh, North Carolina. Madoff sat with Walters for a two hour conversation which will be detailed during tonight’s ABC World News and Nightline on the same network.
Some highlights from the conversation include…
Madoff “can live with” the anger from the people he defrauded for billions of dollars.
Has”horrible nightmares” from this whole fraud.
To his grandchildren Madoff is “sorry t have caused them pain.”
To his wife and family Madoff told Barbara Walters “I betrayed them.” And that “Not seeing my family and knowing they hate me,” is the worst part of his prison term.

His family is keeping everything about his condition or why he was admitted to an unknown hospital which was supposed to be a minor procedure but former 60 Minutes television newsman Andy Rooney is in stable condition following surgery.
The 92 year old three time Emmy winner who quit 60 Minutes three weeks ago developed serious complications after surgery according to a statement from CBS.
Not many more details as this story as his family has asked for privacy on why Andy Rooney was hospitalized.

Michael Lohan, 51 years of age, yes 51 years old, was arrested again. He called his ex-bimbo Kate Major and she called Tampa police to let them know of the violation. So when cops arrived at his apartment, he, like the idiot he really is, tried to get away from the cops by jumping off his third floor apartment balcony.
For the record, there is no woman on this earth that I would even think of contacting to get re-arrested or any woman from here to Alpha Centauri (that’s from the TV show Lost in Space) that I’m going to jump off a balcony in an attempt to get away from the police.
I might push a woman off a balcony but I ain’t jumping!
Michael Lohan and Kate Major
Seems Michael Lohan will be visiting the judge twice this week not to watch his daughter Lindsay weasel her way out of another stint of jail time. Seems the “Father of the Year Award” winner (just kidding, Michael Lohan is no where near a nomination) got arrested two times this week for his own troubles in Tampa.
Dr. Drew Pinsky, who had Michael and Kate on his Celebrity Rehab which once again what makes these people celebrities is my question, commented “This is what he and Kate do routinely.”
Lotta help you are Dr. Drew.
“Unless they both go get treatment, this isn’t going to change,” he added. This family, without question, is nothing more than one hot mess.
Seems Michael Lohan has been rolling up a few too many $100 bills over the past week.

Pat Buchanan and MSNBC are under fire for statements the network commentator made during an interview with what Color of Change is calling “a white supremacist radio show” promoting his new book.

The group sent an e-mail to its supporters stating that Pat Buchanan as a guest states “increasing racial diversity is a threat to this country.” According to Color of Change, Buchanan went on to say that “interracial sex is white genocide.”
Color of Change takes MSNBC to task saying “If MSNBC wants to be seen as a trusted, mainstream source of news and commentary, it needs to fire Buchanan now.”
RealTVCritics.com placed a call to MSNBC President Phil Griffin whose office turned us over to Jeremy Gaines, the communications person for the network. We forwarded him the Color of Change e-mail and are waiting for his response.

For years, Pat Buchanan has passed off white supremacist ideology as legitimate mainstream political commentary. And MSNBC continues to pay him and give him a platform on national TV to do it.
Buchanan has just published a book which says that increasing racial diversity is a threat to this country and will mean the “End of White America.”1 This weekend, to promote his book, he went on a white supremacist radio show whose host has said things like “MLK’s dream is our nightmare,” and “interracial sex is white genocide.”2
Buchanan has the right to express his views, but he’s not entitled to a platform that lets him broadcast bigotry and hate to millions. If MSNBC wants to be seen as a trusted, mainstream source of news and commentary, it needs to fire Buchanan now.

Here are a few examples of what Buchanan has said in the past:
“This has been a country built basically by white folks … “3
“Sonia Sotomayor does believe in race-based justice basically at the expense of white males and to advance people of color. The truth is that’s what Barack Obama believes as well.”4
“America has been the best country on earth for black folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known … no people anywhere has done more to lift up blacks than white Americans. Untold trillions have been spent since the ’60s on welfare, food stamps, rent supplements, Section 8 housing, Pell grants, student loans, legal services, Medicaid, Earned Income Tax Credits and poverty programs designed to bring the African-American community into the mainstream.”5
“[Former KKK Grand Wizard] David Duke is busy stealing from me. I have a mind to go down there and sue that dude for intellectual property theft.”6
These are just a few of many, many examples of Buchanan’s barely-disguised bigotry.7,8 Buchanan has defended Hitler.9 He’s said that “in a way, both sides were right” during the civil war.10 Buchanan often implies that white people are more intelligent than people of color, and just this weekend (in a different radio interview), he refused to disavow the idea that white people have superior genes.11
In general, Buchanan is pushing a vision of America that portrays white people and “white culture” as genuinely American, and diversity and multiculturalism as a threat to America. Buchanan tries to blame the country’s economic problems on programs like affirmative action, welfare, and food stamps — programs which help vulnerable and disadvantaged Americans of every race, but which Buchanan and others on the far right have portrayed as only helping lazy and undeserving minorities. He takes every opportunity to stoke the racial anxiety and fear that exists among some white people. In short, Buchanan wants to pit white people against people of color. He believes in it, he thinks it’s good political strategy, and in his new book he encourages the GOP to become “the white party.”
If Buchanan didn’t have a powerful media platform, he’d be just another person with outdated, extremist ideas. But it’s irresponsible and dangerous for MSNBC to promote his hateful views to an audience of millions.

Well if you didn’t notice by the quick failure of The Playboy Club and Free Agents, tossing in several programs from the 2010 season like Undercovers and the Jimmy Smits Friday night legal drama…oh I forget the name of that show, and NBC has some serious problems.
Well still has some serious problems. As strong as Bravo and USA Network has been for the NBC group, the network is a prime time mess.
The New FOX show 'Alcatraz' with Sam Neill
Throw in the slow decline of the Today Show and Jeff Zucker has to be pretty happy that he’s no longer running NBC. Comcast, which now owns 51% of NBC, well they’re looking at a five year plan for turnaround. The Wall Street Journal article (link below) says three to five years but bet the dog and the house on the five.
NBC’s ratings have dropped 9.3% from last season to this season. That’s the largest percent drop in audience for any network. CBS and ABC aren’t jumping for joy either as their drops were 5.8% and 2.3% respectively, meaning there’s absolutely no respect for any of the original big three networks.
Guess who’s gaining? Yes, FOX is on the rise. Big time. FOX is up a whopping 11% in viewers comparing 2010 versus 2011 and their content is drawing in much younger viewers which has been the staple of that network since its inception.

Yeah they say they’re getting a reality show but nothing for real yet. Though this will surely help some slimy producer, looking to pimp out a 17 year old chick and her 51 year old husband, decide to give these two whacks a TV show.
But I digress.
First I have to remember that Courtney Stodden is only 17 years old. Her husband Doug Hutchison, the dirty guard in the movie The Green Mile, married her when she was 16. He’s 51. So I have to be careful with what I say.
Let me start.
Why is it, when I was in high school, that none of the 17 year old girls looked like Courtney Stodden? That’s all folks. She’s 17. And being sent to Castaic is not in my plans.
The 17 year old and her husband apparently started their own reality show in a pumpkin patch in Santa Clara, California over the weekend. Yeah, a pumpkin patch. She was wearing super short shorts and a top that showed off her stomach. And things seemed to have gotten hot and heavy between the couple as patrons complained about their behavior.

How did she respond to her and her husband’s activity? “Having a beautifully blessed Sunday!” Stodden Tweeted.
I just hate it when people use that phrase “have a blessed” whatever. I really do.

Apparently the couple planned their activities. “Ready to hit the hot and heavy hay this afternoon in preparation for Halloween – YEEHAW!”

So the couple was asked to leave the pumpkin patch.
Oh yeah, the next time somebody breaks my chops about my comments on the lesbian actress and lesbian partner rock singer that got them kicked off a plane for overly groping and kissing each other on a Southwest airplane (read below), remember this story. When Leisha Hailey and Camila Grey did several lip-locks before takeoff and I blogged about not having that type of activity in public, the whole gay and lesbian community got really pissed at me.
Take that. Or this. I don’t think these two hillbillies should be doing anything like this in public either.
This incident with Courtney Stodden and Doug Hutchison follows last week’s issue with Facebook where her page was removed because of sexual content. I looked at her page to pull down one of her many pictures and spent nine hours looking through all of the photos and as a man I could not find anything inappropriate about what I saw.
Oh yeah, by the way, just to show you how low we’ve become in America. Her Facebook page has over 47,000 followers.

She just turned 31 and is one of the hottest personalities on television. Once again I don’t call reality TV people stars. If they can never get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and they keep getting hooked up in handcuffs by federal agents, you just lose that star mentality.

But Kim Kardashian and her posse are pretty clean cut. And now that she’s turned 31 years of age (last Friday) Kim Kardashian gets some good news today from the man whom Forbes Magazine calls the highest paid individual in Hollywood.

No, not Jerry Bruckheimer, but urban entertainment creator Tyler Perry. The two mega stars in front of and behind the camera are getting together in The Marriage Counselor with Kim Kardashian co-starring in the Perry produced movie.
Kim will play Judith, a co-worker of the film’s unnamed lead in The Marriage Counselor. Production will begin later this month according to a story in the Hollywood Reporter.
