Well let’s say Conan O’Brien is not sitting on his show on TBS and not looking to the future.  And he’s figuring that with the low ratings over at ABC’s No Ordinary Family, he’ll grab on to Michael Chiklis, the star of that series to be the lead in his new comedy on CBS.

Conan’s Conaco Productions is putting together a new show titled Vince Uncensored, a comedy centered on Michael’s character that takes the path of straight and narrow after a life changing experience.

Chiklis made his real bones on The Shield on FX and way back when on The Commish. Unfortunately No Ordinary Family has been a ratings disappointment on ABC and the chances of that series being renewed are none to negative slim.

Chris Schauble is taking his act from Burbank to Hollywood.  OK to Sunset Boulevard, going from KNBC4 Television and headed over to the morning news program on rival KTLA.

Way to go  Chris.

I’ve been a clear critic of NBC4 here in Los Angeles because of the comedians they have on their morning show ‘Today in LA.’  Chris used to have the anchor chair in the morning at that station and was removed after having one of those moments that all newspeople at his level want to take back.  Something went wrong on the set and he mouthed the words “what the f@#$” while the camera was still on him.

But after moving from that gig to being a street reporter, weekend anchor, whatever they could find for him, well now he’s found a new place in Los Angeles as the 5AM to 7AM anchor at KTLA5 Morning News.

Congratulations Chris.  Why it took so long for LA based TV news organizations to grab you is beyond me.

Now you no longer have to be a comedian.  Or a TV shock jock which is ‘Today in LA’ at NBC4.  I try, I really try, to give this morning group a break.  I flip past the channel every morning as I am up at 5AM every day.  But when I have to hear the traffic guy there talking about ‘phlegming up” when trying to clear his throat when I turn on this show it’s time to find options like CBS2.

NBC4 has great news talent.  Starting at 5PM.  More mature, more professional, maybe out of date with today’s ‘breaking news’ mentality.  But now one, at least one guy who caught a bad break, is getting on at a new station and it’s well deserved.

You sure can’t!  We’ll keep this one up for as long as we can before we get a cease and desist from the San Diego Tribune but this is one of the funniest cartoons about Charlie Sheen, the internet’s new sensation.  But Halloween is so far off to think about what people will want to wear, what people will want to be.

Though a drunken, drug addicted, manic depressed, bipolar, psychologically impaired Hollywood actor will be at the top of the list this coming Halloween.  Whether he’s dead or alive, which is questionable at this point, Charlie Sheen’s look and actions will be the top choice for Halloween 2011.

What’s sad is the message.  The message that kids are growing up today thinking that the Charlie Sheen’s of the world, the Snooki Polizzi types over at MTV, anyone that tries to surf on the hood of a car are the people they want to be.

J-Lo is out working on American Idol so she’s lacking time to spend at home with her husband Marc Anthony.  And he may have a Grammy Award or two to place up on the mantle but Jennifer Lopez no doubt told Marc there’s nothing going on but the rent.

OK so we jest.  Yes we jest that he has two Grammys because Mark had pulled in a few Latin ones as well.

Now he’s going to TNT to work as a series regular on Jada’s ‘Hawthorne’ in its upcoming season on the cable network.  Not his first acting gig as he was part of Martin Scorcese’s Bringing Out the Dead and with Denzel Washington in the drama Man on Fire.

The third season of ‘Hawthorne’ gets back in business this summer in June.  He was in two episodes as Detective Nick Renata but his role will be expanded immensely during the new set of shows.

But why is this show still a question mark?  Not too sure but for some reason every episode I’ve watched is strong enough to keep me engaged and not, like some of the shows on FOX, tuning out immediately.

Think ‘Lone Star’ and you’ll get my point.

But ‘The Chicago Code,’ though not tearing up any records in the ratings for FOX on Monday nights, is a pretty good cop show.

Australian actor Jason Clarke, a new face to U.S. domestic television, slightly over-acts but is really believable.  He plays Chicago detective Jarek Wysocki.  He leads a team of investigators that get their choice of what cases they will cover and report directly to Jennifer Beals character (Teresa Colvin) who runs the Chicago Police Department.  And Beals pulls off her role very well, playing off the loose cannon Wysocki in her attempts to keep him in line and out of trouble.

The solid Delroy Lindo is amazing as ever as your typical, sleazy politician.  Alderman Ronnin Gibbons is the kind of politician that after shaking his hand you want to check on your jewelry that may have been surrounding your fingers.  There’s always something about his character that you really like so he fits in perfectly in his role on ‘The Chicago Code.’

Give this show a shot, no pun intended.  It’s worth the hour.  Especially if you like cop shows, which as a heterosexual male is like Sunday afternoon football.  ‘The Chicago Code’ airs Monday nights at 9 on FOX.

No she’s not going in to witness protection.  Mary Shannon from In Plain Sight you are not needed for this story.  But Angela Bassett is getting her first real role on television if you take out her limited part in NBC’s ‘E.R’ in that show’s final season.

Bassett will play the Special Agent in charge of the FBI’s Identity Crimes Unit in the new ABC series Identity. This all according to Deadline.com that originally had her set to be in another series but this one seems to be confirmed.  The Identity Crimes Unit is set to take on any identity related crimes according to the Deadline.com report which seems pretty boring but definitely more to come.

Angela Bassett is married to one of television and movie’s most underrated actors in Courtney B. Vance.  She also won a Golden Globe for her spectacular performance in the movie What’s Love Got to Do with It.

One was a very funny guy.  The other was an obese, fat, overweight embarrassment to those of us always keeping an eye on our waste-lines.  I tell both stories because one fought and beat his addiction.  The other made his weight the focus of an ad campaign.  Sold out for a buck and obesity.

Make money anyway you can?  I think not.

Mike DeStefano, a former comedian who was a finalist on TV’s Last Comic Standing died at the early age of 44.  The New York born funny guy passed away of a massive heart attack.  At 44?  Well Mike had a rough life.  Addicted to heroin at age 14, Mike battled his demons for many years.  His wife died of AIDS a few years ago and People.com said Mike had the disease as well.

He became a drug counselor prior to becoming a comedian.  “I am a stand-up comic.  Before that I was a drug counselor, before that I was a drug addict.  Before that I was 12,” he says on his website.

Then there’s Blair River, the morbidly, incredibly obese TV spokesperson for a group of fast food restaurants known as Heart Attack Grill.

And they cook their french fries in lard.  Yes lard.

They actually have a burger called the ‘Quadruple Bypass Burger.’

Blair River, who you will see in the video below died and of course can no longer be the spokesperson for Heart Attack Grill. He was only 29 year of age.  He was 6 foot 8 inches tall and weighed 575 pounds, proud to be the spokesperson for anything and ate his ‘weigh’ to his death.

Only 29 years old.

Way to go Heart Attack Grill.

One good guy.  A funny guy.  One fat guy, screwed by the system in the advertising world.  Both stories totally unrelated but each needed to be told.

Charlie Sheen has a lawyer.  Chuck Lorre, the  creator of ‘Two and a Half Men,’ he’s got a lawyer.  Warner Brothers, the producer of the show, they hired one of the most powerful law firms in the world.  And of course the network, CBS, well they have a lot of lawyers and how do I know that?  Well, I’ve dealt with them on an ongoing basis part of  my life while working for that network.

Where do I get Rabinowitz, Rabinowitz and the other Rabinowitz?  Well there was one episode of ‘All in the Family’ which ran on CBS back in the day when Archie Bunker needed a law firm and hired the three ‘R’s to defend him for some reason which I can’t remember.  And Charlie Sheen is about to get his comeuppance for his anti-Semitic remark that he made about Chuck Lorre along with other misery that he will face in the aftermath of his firing from ‘Two and a Half Men.’

If Sheen were smart, he would do what everyone wants him to do.  Check himself in to a rehab and/or mental facility because he’s absolutely nuts.  After last night’s rant the move to fire Sheen is the best move ever.  The man has made all of us laugh with his ongoing rants over the last couple of weeks.  But now he’s beyond funny.  He is sick, really sick.  And needs to get help.

In his mind though, the plan is to keep the law firm of Rabinowitz, Rabinowitz and Rabinowitz up his rear.  And trust me in Hollywood that’s a ride no one, even Charlie Sheen, wants to take.

OK so the rodeo is in town.  Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against the rodeo.  I actually love seeing people get thrown off the back of a bull or a wild horse.   It’s always a blast.

But only on TV.

Yes going to the rodeo is one of those things black people just won’t do.  I’m really thinking of starting a second website.  What do you think about this…

I kind of like that.  Bungy jumping, being cast on some reality show where you have to tie a rope around your neck, whatever.  I’m sorry,I’m a brotha and there are just some things white folks will do that I won’t do.

Period.

We don’t go to rodeos.  Watch this video and you will see why we prefer begin on the beaches in Atlantic City or the Bahamas and don’t see rodeos as a Sunday afternoon sport.  We’ll walk on Rodeo Drive and that’s the Rodeo Drive running through Inglewood, California.  Even the one in Beverly Hills which is pronounced ‘RO-DAY-OH’ in that neighborhood.

Hell no, we won’t go, to the rodeo.  Nice rhyme, eh?

Just a thought from one brotha.  Others may see it different but when you see this bull jump on top of some unsuspecting people you will see my point.

Well Kathy Griffin may have dumped her reality show (praise Jesus!) and Sarah Palin’s chances of being President some day are none to negative slim (praise Jesus!) but the media world seems to want to continue to put these two people in front of a camera.

Kathy’s all over the place these days, including an upcoming hit on ‘Glee,’ which will make me think of not watching another episode of that show.  And Sarah Palin keeps on keeping on with her time on FOX News Channel as an analyst until she announces her run for President when at that point FOX News will put her on suspension as they did with Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum (why he’s running for anything is a huge question) which may make me actually tune in to that network to watch Glenn Beck’s ratings drop even more.

OK I digress, but just for a moment.

Kathy Griffin is annoying.  Sarah Palin is not far behind the comedian.  But to be honest, I really think Sarah Palin is more funny as a politician than Kathy Griffin is as a comedian.

That’s cold.  But true.

Now the war of words continues.  Griffin has blasted Palin, her children, her husband, even busted Sarah a new one when Grif did a show up in Anchorage.  And Sarah Palin had a few choice words for Kathy Griffin.  Watch the video.  That will be enough.

Oh yeah, Kathy will play a Tea Party type on her episode on FOX’s ‘Glee.’

I love this stuff, I really do.
