OK so I’m going to warn you all in advance that nothing is bleeped out in these videos. So there’s some, OK so there’s a whole heck of a lotta words that should have been edited out only if this was on MTV. Lady Gaga needs to get her mouth washed out,Tyler the Creator I’m still trying to find out who the hell is Tyler the Creator especially after he trashes my boy Bruno Mars and on and on.
Katy Perry - 2011 MTV Video Music Awards
Check it all out and we thank the Los Angeles Times for the video content but once again we warn you on some of the content that you probably shouldn’t be bouncing little Mary or little Johnny or little Hakeem on your lap with the audio up on some of what you’ll hear.
But a good back stage look at what really takes place off camera at the MTV Video Music Awards.

…we can’t even get passed the rumor that’s “NUMBER ONE” with a an echo and a bullet on Google Trends that says Nancy Grace, or as some call her Nancy Disgrace is going to be two-stepping in on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars.
Ron Artest
Here’s the full list of those joining the CNN host and former host of Swift Justice, one of those awful daytime shows. Ron Artest (looks like there won’t be an NBA season), Kristin Cavallari, Hope Solo, Ricki Lake (HUH?!), David Arquette, Rob Kardashian, Chaz Bono, Kim Richards, Sherry Shepherd and Christina Millian.
Wow!
Nice lineup for Dancing with the Stars on upcoming season 13. Tune in to Bachelor Pad 2 tonight at 8 on ABC for the full lineup. Oh this is so fun.

One more passenger was all it took to end the career of one of R&B’s most sensational newcomers. Just one more passenger. Aaliyah and her entourage had just finished a music video in the Bahamas and weren’t scheduled to return to the United States until the following day. On a bigger plane, a plane that could suffice the legal weight requirements of Aaliyah and members of her recording company that were in the Bahamas to work on her video.
Aaliyah on the Set of Her Video 'Try Again'
That turned out to be the biggest mistake of the short life of the singer, more a mistake by the pilot who had one more person on the plane, making it too heavy for travel, then crashing 200 feet beyond the runway.
Aaliyah’s career was over. All for one extra passenger. A stupid mistake, a life a great musical artist was gone.
Aaliyah: One in a Million was one of BET’s most watched programs on the network during it’s premiere last week which just tells us about the impact that the performer left on all of us in her short stint in the music business. 1.1 million viewers watched the show which includes behind the scenes content along with some of her really popular music videos with some additional content never seen by the public.
Aaliyah: One in a Million is airing all over BET so check your local listings for time.

Crosby is getting some competition for Jasmine‘s attention. And some serious comp. OK let’s do a bit of set-up. Crosby (Dax Shephard) hooked up with his baby’s mama Jasmine (Joy Bryant), moved in with her, bought her a house, did the “you are the father’ Maury type thing then bumped you know whats with Minka Kelly’s Gaby Moss, came clean (you never come clean) and Jasmine kicked Crosby to the curb.
That’s one heck of a fast forward.
Now enter DB Woodside, who I remember from FOX’s 24, another brother President that got messed up on that show. Somehow all of the black Presidents get messed up on 24. I didn’t see any of the white Presidents get shot or blown up on 24.
Somebody get Joel Surnow on line one.
DB Woodside (left) and Very Cute Friend on the Right
Now DB Woodside enters Parenthood on NBC, getting a five episode stint on the show as Dr. Joseph Prestidge, an Ivy League guy, probably from Penn, who is so different than the take it as it comes Crosby. He does his thing to get close to Jasmine and of course all you know what will break loose in the Braverman clan over the good Dr. Prestidge.
That’s all according to a report from The Hollywood Reporter.
Executive Producer Jason Katims told THR “things maybe didn’t work out for them quite as well as it seemed” for Crosby and Jasmine as the end of last season had them “happy together” in the words and music of The Turtles back in 1967. Google it because if I have to go back to 1967 the scotch on the rocks is kicking in on a Sunday afternoon when the temperature hits close to 100 degrees in Los Angeles.
Uh oh! That top shelf scotch will provide a bit of creativity won’t it?
Parenthood is back on NBC September 13th.

OK so yes this blog and this writer are based on the east coast. Yes I’m from Philly and lived on the east coast for most of my life. Doing Boston for a few years, New York for a couple of years. So with a bit of concern with family in those areas I spent a good part of the day watching storm coverage on CNN. Now this storm was on the radar for what about a week before it really hit the east coast so this gave everyone there plenty of time to get the hell out of Dodge City, right?
Then comes the story from Norfolk about these two idiots, maybe I should call them morons, that decided to get in a sailboat during a major hurricane.
I’m not kidding. A man and a woman get in a sailboat during Hurricane Irene, predicted to be one of the most powerful storms in most of our lifetimes.
What is wrong with people? I mean what is wrong with people?
I say the next time a couple of idiots or morons jump in a damn boat in a storm that we leave them in the ocean to die. Die!
So watching CNN, watching everyone on the east coast from Norfolk all the way up to Boston getting prepared for a major hurricane and these two people are out in a boat in the ocean.
So from the CNN anchor, this question to the guy from Norfolk Fire and Rescue. “I’m curious, why were they out there, clearly they knew of this storm that was on it’s way, what were they doing in the water in the first place?”
“They were trying to out run the storm,” said Captain Mike Marsala from fire and rescue. “They had some engine trouble.”
Idiots. Morons.
Next time someone says they want the government out of their lives, remember they have to send money to Norfolk Fire and Rescue to go pickup, well a couple of idiots and morons.
You can watch the story from the link courtesy WAVY in Norfolk.

G. Garvin wants you take a road trip. No he’s not doing that guy thing where you see baseball games from Boston to Miami. Or a road trip to the Jersey Shore for spring break. G. Garvin, one of America’s newest and hottest names in the food business on television is taking you beyond turning up the heat asking you to join him for Georgia Road Trip with G. Garvin this weekend on Cooking Channel.
Chef G. Garvin, Host of Cooking Channel's 'Georgia Road Trip with G. Garvin'
The “culinary adventure” will take Chef G. Garvin home to his Georgia roots, to “places that have been talked about and places that represent the South with a unique twist,” says G. Garvin. And just because it’s a show shot exclusively in the state of Georgia, this is not show about soul food. “It’s about a great dish, a great chef or a great owner, anything that is served in the historic South.”
“We ate a lot of food,” for this special G. Garvin said during my interview with him. “We wanted to go to places that were relevant to the South,” he chats about the new special. “Everyone is doing the Southern influence when it comes to food.” And there’s more to come, a lot more to come as G. Garvin is expecting this special to be green-lit for a full series. Meaning that the “road trip” portion will grow to a series that can take G. Garvin to any part of the country, maybe any part of the world. In fact this special will be airing in parts of Brazil so the options for expanding beyond Georgia Road Trip with G. Garvin are in his future plans.
G.Garvin’s roots may be from Georgia but his experience in working as a chef serving many types of food gives him a great foundation for hosting Georgia Road Trip with G. Garvin . He’s been in the kitchens of restaurants serving Italian, American, French and soul food. And if you’re looking for any of his recipes you will be able to find several books including Dining In, Turn Up the Heat with G. Garvin, Make It Super Simple with G. Garvin and more with several books to be released soon.
G. Garvin just finished an arc of shows on TV One, the urban audience focused network. Now with his move over to the mainstream viewed Cooking Channel his brand will be exposed on a network that is truly focused on cooking. Cooking Channel is owned by Scripps which runs the very popular Food Network cable channel. With Georgia Road Trip with G. Garvin , the chef feels he’s in the right place for his new series. “Food Network is more about entertainment, contesting and reality shows. Cooking Channel is about food.”
G. Garvin has been working on hooking up this type of show with Food Network for “five or six years” and with Cooking Channel in place for the last couple of years he sees nothing but many more opportunities for his integration hopefully both networks.
“I’m part of the culinary world, doing this for 25 years,” says G. Garvin. And it’s all paying off. Starting with Georgia Road Trip with G. Garvin . The special premieres Sunday night at 8PM Eastern/5PM Pacific on Cooking Channel with repeats listed below.

Well it seems to be over according to JustJared.com that this morning is reporting that future Charlie’s Angels, Friday Night Lights and part time Parenthood‘s Minka Kelly and superstar, baseball, future Hall of Famer Derek Jeter have called it quits on their one on one hookup.
Minka Kelly and Derek Jeter
And her people have apparently confirmed the split so we won’t have to go through the Will Smith/Jada Pinkett Smith are they or aren’t they together because this one seems to be 100% true.
The on again off again relationship seemed to be headed toward the aisle which you can bet would have been about as big as last weekend’s Kardashian affair. But it’s back to baseball for the Yankees shortstop and “action” for the new Charlie’s Angels as Eve in the upcoming series on ABC.

Oh my this is turning in to a real mess. For ESPN that is and the hit the network is about to continue to take over an article that will appear in the September 5th issue of ESPN the Magazine.
Take a look at the picture with the white guy. Yes take a long look at that picture with the white guy and then take a look at the picture of the black dude. Well the guy and the dude are the same person. Or the exact same person as some would error grammatically.
Michael Vick as a white guy
The real Michael Vick
Yes ESPN the Magazine. had one of their artists re-do the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback in white-face for an article written by TV talking head and cultural guy Toure. The article titled What if Michael Vice were white detailed how the dog-fighting convicted leader of the Eagles was treated back in the days when he led a very troubled lifestyle.
Toure says he did not want ESPN to give his article that title but in his position as writer he has no control over the headline. The web-site originally had the first picture uploaded with the story and then went back and changed it to Michael Vick the black guy after all you know what broke loose. Then ESPN, figuring they had a big story, decided to put the white-faced Vick back on their site.
'Toure' is the guy on the left
So instead of me just going over the whole story because I get a bit crazy when stories about racism in sports are written I have provided a few links to what Toure’s story is about and his reaction to his article. I guess more, the picture.
For Toure’s part, he’s not really happy about the bait and switch white guy/black dude thing. Read on.

Our friends over at TV Week have done it again. Another commercial focused on cars and some serious though went in the creative concept that led to this which was banned by Hyundai in Denmark.
So the Hyundai Veloster has three doors. And like cabs in New York that will only let you out on the curb side, the Hyundai Veloster seems to do the same thing. And this commercial surely highlights the safety of getting out on that curb side instead of the street where cars might be coming at you at a high rate of speed.
Pretty powerful commercial.

Now I found my reason go back to my old diet. I’ve been on this low carb diet. No rice, no bread (I’ve had a little) and no pasta are the biggest losers for me and I actually don’t miss the 25 pounds I’ve dropped. But I’m going back. And if there’s a reason going back, getting cast on NBC’s The Biggest Loser and getting trained by Anna Kournikova is all worth it, I say.
'The Biggest Loser - Anna Kournikova
The tennis great will be joining the series this new set of shows which begins on Tuesday September 20th. Let’s see if I start eating apple pies and all pizza I should be about 250 by that date. But with my luck I’d drop from a massive coronary.
Anna Kournikova joins Dolvet Quince, Alison Sweeney and Bob Harper as the team of fitness experts who will be working with the likes of former NFL player Antone Davis who played offensive tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles and the Atlanta Falcons. Yeah, Antone played for the Eagles when I lived in Philly. What do I remember about Antone Davis? “Holding! Number 89 on the Eagles offensive, 15 yards, the touchdown is nullified, replay the down,” from the referee of any game Antone Davis played for Philadelphia.

Anyway back to Anna. Aaaaah, forget it. But read the list of participants for this season’s The Biggest Loser below.
