Reese Witherspoon, the MTV Generation Award, 2011 MTV Movie Awards

Actress Reese Witherspoon was hit while jogging in the Santa Monica area of California this morning and rushed to a hospital suffering minor injuries.  An 84 year old woman failed to stop at a stop sign and barreled in to the 35 year old as she crossed a street.  Her injuries sustained were not life threatening  as the car was only moving about 20 miles per hour at the time of the accident.

Reese Witherspoon’s spokesperson told Entertainment Tonight that the actress was released and is home with her family.

People in Los Angeles and surrounding communities know that if you’re walking or jogging when the light turns green, you wait five seconds before crossing the street.  After five seconds, look both ways and wait for every car to stop.

Just a suggestion to all of us out here.

Oh what a very confusing headline, right?  I thought it was a bit creative but wanted you to read the full story.  America’s Most Wanted, a staple of the FOX Saturday night prime-time line-up following COPS, got canceled by the programming people there but it won’t go away for long.

Lifetime cable channel has picked up the show.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaat!?

Yes, Lifetime, the female directed network has picked up the show which actually when you think deeply about it is a pretty good move.  Let’s see, it seems Lifetime is going back to shows where women are victims of dastardly crimes from dastardly men who control them.

OK c’mon, you’ve watch America’s Most Wanted.  There’s always a crime where women either get offed by their husbands or boyfriends.  Or turn up missing in Aruba.  But there’s always a victim type female movie on Lifetime so America’s Most Wanted will fit right in on that cable network’s line-up.

The show ran for 23 years on FOX before getting dumped for financial reasons. FOX said they couldn’t make any money from advertisers on America’s Most Wanted.  But with a programming schedule relatively short on content, AMW will run no doubt 250 times a week.

The show launches on Lifetime with a two hour special in October.

Kate Gosselin, welcome to Obamacare!  Yeah, that’s what you’re going to have to rely on for you and your kids since TLC pretty much turned its back on your show ad Kate Plus 8 has turned in to Kate minus her reality show.

And what’s next for the former reality show target could be nothing.  So it may be time to suit up and head to IHop to wait on tables because to be real honest Kate Gosselin is not a likeable person.

Ask one female friend of yours if they like Kate Gosselin and you just won’t get a positive answer.

And then she adds this one to the mix in conversation with People Magazine.  Her kids “weren’t ready” to leave the show.”

Huh?

Um everybody at TLC, stop what you’re doing and get in to the conference room now!  Kate Gosselin’s kids say they are not ready to end their integration in Kate Plus 8 so let’s reconsider!

I guess I write these stories to be rude and crude to this woman but she has about as much talent as my 15 year old cat who does nothing more than eat, sleep and crap.

“Ive never quit a job in my life without having something else lined up,” she told People.  Well, Kate, let’s get back to that “welcome to Obamacare” line at the beginning of this story.  And by the way you didn’t quit, you got fired.

Why I wrote this story, I have no clue.  But it certainly was funny.

It’s the question of the day at we approach the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy.  Let’s be real a lot of people ask the question and for those of us who knew people who died during that terrorist attack almost 10 years ago you’ll get the same answer.  For those of us who knew no one that perished, you may get a different answer.

What’s the question?  Is it time for us to get over the tragedy of 9/11?

Well the FX television series Rescue Me was born after that tragedy.  It focused on the lives of the firemen and their families starting with their daily activities in and around the fictitious Ladder 62/Engine 99 firehouse in New York city.  And this is season seven of Rescue Me but I gotta tell you I have no reason to watch tonight’s final episode of the final season.

I’m just bored with the whole mess of re-living that awful day.  And with the show’s lack of a strong audience when compared to launch back in 2004, well it seems a lot of people just want that day to go away.

The show was created by actor/comedian Denis Leary and just lost its engagement to any audience.  It was a solid show for a few years but then for some reason, and I just can’t put my finger on it, I lost total interest in Rescue Me.

Actually the show got to be pretty lame.  It lost any creativity or the creativity stayed the same with nothing to refresh the content of Rescue Me.

Good show but are we all tired of re-hashing the tragedy of 9/11?  Well maybe, with the decline of interest in Rescue Me.  It could be time for some of us to let this 10th anniversary be done, for all of us all to take a deep breath and focus on the future.

It’s all about being funny, right.  Well you can’t beat some solid names from NBC’s Saturday Night Live that hosted the Oscars broadcast in Billy Crystal and Chevy Chase.  Well those rumors that have been floating around about another SNL alum Eddie Murphy are coming true as the standup comedian/actor/singer and whatever else he has on his resume will soon be adding host of the Oscars.

Murphy will host the program for his first time on ABC Television which will air on the network on Sunday February 26th of 2012 .  “Eddie is a comedic genius, one of the greatest and most influential live performers ever,” said Academy Award producer Bret Ratner after announcing Murphy’s hosting duties.  Don Mischer who is also a producer of the show said Eddie Murphy “is a truly groundbreaking performer.”

Murphy grabbed an Oscar himself for Dreamgirls in 2006.

When you look at  the changes taking place over at ABC Daytime, you might be slightly confused.  There’s a lot going on with the cancellation of One Life to Live and All My Children, to be replaced by a couple of shows that may have limited life in daytime.

And then there’s the big time announcement of the new Katie Couric daytime talk program that doesn’t hit the network until 2012.

Throw in the loss of Oprah Winfrey which was syndicated on most of the ABC owned and operated stations and what’s going on with LIVE with Regis and Kelly and you might as well set off the fire alarm over at that network.

One word comes to mind on these changes and that’s “wow!”

Well today there’s a date on the calendar for the end of a long career with ABC Television.  That’s November 18th when Regis Philbin retires from the daytime show after 28 years in the co-host chair.  There’s no replacement yet for Regis so producer Michael Gelman says there will be a lof of replacements and testing going on as the search for a full time replacement is named.

Now we all have certain phobias.  I personally don’t like looking over a roof.  No matter how high the building.  I remember one time I had to climb the two story roof of my house, probably no more than 50 plus feet high and the anxiety almost mad me reach for my medication when I had to climb down.

One guy we know in the television business certainly has a huge phobia against spiders.  So much so that he literally heads for the door to jet out of the studio while he was giving his weather forecast. Jim O’Brien from FOX 59′s WXIN Indianapolis is no fool.  He’s gone!

And this was not one of those fake reality jokes as the morning show had a spider expert bring in a black widow type to the studio for show and tell.  He’s really scared!

Oh yeah, and the “I don’t like spiders and snakes” line comes from a Jim Stafford pop tune back in the ’70′s.  Yeah I know, who is Jim Stafford?

…is this a scam or what?  There are a lot of crooked people out there spending most of their days working up the next way to rip off consumers.  First there are those crooks over at Mongo Rewards, which is the biggest scam on earth.  Yes, all you need to do is look at the number of scam stories about Mongo Rewards and two words.  First “be” and the second “ware.”

As in beware.

But we’re watching television on a holiday Monday and saw a commercial for Bigspot.com where you can get paid to use products and comment on them.  Now with millions of people out of work, scams like the Mongo Rewards scams are aplenty.  But we say always check out any web-site that asks for your e-mail address or other contact information because they are pretty much ripoffs.

Before you deal with Bigspot.com please check them out.

You’d think having the same job for over 40 years would warrant some political correctness from Susan Lucci but no way, not according to a memoir written by the actress known more as Erica Kane on ABC’s All My Children. With the soap opera headed to the famed RealTVCritics.com canceled bin in a few weeks, it a no holds barred approach for Susan Lucci and the guy she says is responsible for the demise of AMC.

Lucci all but trashes Brian Frons, the head of daytime programming for ABC Television in her new book All My Life: A Memoir.  She pretty much blames the suit for taking the show to a level where the network has decided to add talk content in the daytime program hours and take All My Children and One Life to Live off their broadcast schedule.

Just some of her comments and they’re pretty direct include calling Frons a “combination of ignorance and arrogance.”  She also accuses Frons of bringing in a new writer who gave the cast what she called “subpar” material which didn’t help grow the show.  And then the final stake in the heart of  Frons from Susan Lucci was her comment in the book saying the show was canceled because of “some very bad decisions  by you.”

Yeah, Susan Lucci’s probably not going to be getting calls from ABC anytime soon for any future projects.  In defense of Frons, the daytime soap opera genre is coming to a clear end.  With all of the past cancellations of these daytime dramas and the fact that they’re not profitable will lead any network to take a show off the air.

The most important thing ABC daytime programming will be focused on is one lady and her name is Katie Couric.

It’s probably television’s most anticipated project.  And in just a few weeks we’ll all know if the hype and the cost to put together the new FOX series Terra Nova is worth its pre-promotion.

Terra Nova premieres on FOX on September 26th and the network has released several new videos to help promote the heck out of this new show.  Stephen Lang, the bad boy from the movie Avatar and Jason O’Mara who played in the ABC show Life on Mars lead a cast of pretty much unknowns on an adventure back in time to save what’s left of the human race.  Of course they meet a plethora of resistance from all angles during their journey.
