Morning Battle Heats Up, ‘Today Show’ Losing Ground to ‘Good Morning America’

February 27th, 2011 No comments

This is what happens when mergers between big corporations take place.  With NBC is virtual freeze frame because of the new combo  with Comcast, ABC’s Good Morning America keeps growing surely but strongly giving the ‘Today Show’ something to really make them shiver.

goodmorningamerica-logoAccording to TVByThe Numbers.com, GMA is closing the viewer difference with its main competitor over at NBC.  You can get some straight up numbers by going to the link below but GMA is the only show to realize any audience growth compared to last year during the same week of ratings review.

In total raw numbers the ABC morning show is bringing in 4,730,000 viewers every day while the perennial leader in Today over at NBC still leads the pack at 5,450,000 viewers every day.  And you can about forget the CBS Early Show as they follow reruns of anything airing on local cable access.

NBC is at risk for all of their programming as no money is being spent on either marketing current programming nor are contracts for talent for anyone but the majors being re-upped by management until the shake-up in the merger with Comcast settles down.  Which makes this a good time for ABC to re-energize their morning show.

Even Charlie Sheen Will Appear During Tonight’s Oscars

February 27th, 2011 No comments

Los Angeles is buzzing once again.  Traffic patterns in Hollywood have been a mess for over a week and if you care or don’t care about tonight’s broadcast of the Oscars on ABC, the city is ready.

Could we stop though with this Charlie Sheen mess?  Not!  ABC TV is taking full advantage of ‘The Saga of Charlie Sheen’ as they plan on running promotional spots for his interview during tonight’s program.

Oh these programming people are so dang smart.  In one of the more brilliant moves in television, you will be able to see the much maligned actor in the show formerly known as ‘Two and a Half Men’ get some juice during commercial breaks tonight.

OK we all will be watching.

It what will be “all Charlie all the time” this week on ABC from morning, noon and night, Chuck’s sit down interview on the network will be part of tonight’s broadcast.

Jamie Foxx, Oscar Co-Host Anne Hathaway and George Lopez

James Franco and Anne Hathaway are co-hosting the Oscars on the network.   Producer Bruce Cohen said the two co-hosts are “fresh, exciting and multi-talented” and this is the first time both have hosted the program.  Lots of changes coming to tonight’s broadcast as well so that will definitely bring in lots of new viewers to the show.

The long film segments are out.  “Within the body of the show, we are not doing any film montages,” said Cohen.  No more elaborate tributes that basically bore the viewer so the show’s approach will be more streamlined during tonight’s broadcast.

Should actually be fun to watch.

Kathleen Parker Out of CNN’s ‘Parker Spitzer’ as New Show, Format Announced

February 25th, 2011 No comments

Well surprise, surprise.

Not really.

This show is now about to become half awful.  Kathleen Parker, half of the CNN not sure how to really describe ‘Parker Spitzer’ show she co-hosted with disgraced former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer, is moving on to other areas of her career.

OK so she got fired.

In one of the many awful programming decisions by CNN, Kathleen Parker says she is returning to her career as a writer rather than a TV talk host which is probably a good long term career move since this show is relatively awful.  “It was a difficult decision to scale back my column a few months ago,” she said in a statement announcing her decision to leave after four months of co-hosting the show.

Starting Monday the new show will be called ‘In the Arena’ and several people will be joining Eliot Spitzer in the newly reformatted program that airs at 8PM evenings on CNN.

A new show for the seven people still watching CNN.

ABC’s ’20/20′ Gets First TV Charlie Sheen Interview Tuesday Night

February 25th, 2011 No comments

His show has been canceled.  At least for this season and it may be smart for CBS to cancel the show completely after next Tuesday’s event featuring ‘Two and a Half Men’ star Charlie Sheen. He’s doing an hour-long interview with CBS rival ABC on their news-magazine.

You can place a ton of money on the fact this will be the biggest audience grabber for this show in its history. And it airs on ABC at 10PM along with content that will also air on Good Morning America Monday and Tuesday from 7AM to 9AM.

Charlie Sheen says he’s going back to work despite the fact that his bosses over at CBS and Warner Brothers have canceled any future production for this season.

Hey Charlie.  The show has been canceled.  Do you understand the words coming out of my blog?

Sheen told ABC’s ‘Good Morning America’ in a text message last week that he is showing up for work next week.  This after calling Chuck Lorre, the producer of ‘Two and a Half Men’ a “loser,” a “little maggot,” and an anti-Semitic phrase that most close to Charlie Sheen can’t imagine even a crack head like him would say about the person he has to work with everyday.

Now HBO is in the mix, according to Sheen.  For $5 million an episode Charlie wants to produce a show called ‘Sheen’s Corner’ but HBO says they have no idea what he’s talking about.

We’re almost done with this mess called Charlie Sheen.  He’s a crack head and is surrounded by enablers like Lindsay Lohan’s who familial clan sponsors her stupidity.

This is an absolutely awful situation that doesn’t seem to be getting any better.  And it seems finally, and we do mean finally, CBS and Warner Brothers agree.

CBS Shuts Down Charlie Sheen, ‘Two and a Half Men’ After Rambling Radio Interview (Listen)

February 24th, 2011 No comments

CBS and Warner Brothers has had enough of Charlie Sheen.  Today’s rambling radio interview was enough to force the network and the show’s  producers to call an end to this season of the Monday night hit TV show ‘Two and a Half Men.’

two_and_a_half_men_1Sheen made an appearance on Alex Jones’ radio show and proceeded to trash anyone and anything in sight during the ongoing rant that was probably Sheen’s worst moment in his career.

He went on and on.  And quite frankly it was worst than his two radio stints prior to the Alex Jones piece that you can listen to at this link from TMZ.com.

Just listen.  Charlie Sheen.  What a mess.

Kim Kardashian Look-a-Like Melissa Molinaro in ‘Old Navy’ TV Commercial (Video)

February 24th, 2011 No comments

OK so she looks like Kim in the face a bit.  But, and I do mean butt, the booty is certainly not Kim Kardashian although if I were one of the three sisters I’d call Maury to check on the DNA here.

Her name is Melissa Molinaro.  And as a guy I must say she’s pretty damn good looking.  Nice Italian girl, yo!

Nope.  She’s from Canada and you might have seen her in Making the Band on MTV.  Molinaro is her mom’s maiden name and after watching this commercial I want to meet her mom.

melissa-molinaro1

This is the new hot Old Navy commercial that’s tearing up the web right now and it’s definitely worth a watch.  Not only because it’s produced really well, as in it’s one of the best commercials coming from Old Navy.  Which by the way creates some really well produced commercials ever.  But if you want to see Kim Kardashian without the booty, well this is your chance.

Dream on, I mean watch on your screen for this one.

Job well done Old Navy.

Man Jumps ‘Today Show’ Barrier During Live Broadcast (Video)

February 23rd, 2011 No comments

This is something that happens a lot.  One of those incidents that really scares anchors of live shows broadcast on either network or even local TV.  The one wacko that seems to want to get his or her 15 minutes of fame or just some very sick human being interrupting TV talent while on the air.

NUP_141927_0598That’s what happened yesterday during the broadcast of the ‘Today Show’ on NBC.  A man tried to jump the barrier separating Al Roker, Meredith Vieira and Willie Geist, yesterday’s hosts, before being subdued by NBC security and police on the scene.

Check out the video.

TNT ‘Falling Skies’ Trailer is ‘Walking Dead’ (Video)

February 22nd, 2011 No comments

Steven Spielberg is no dummy.  In fact if he’s as smart as he seems, well he’ll take the success of AMC’s ‘Walking Dead’ and copy it like a Xerox machine at Xerox.

Drew Roy and Noah Wyle, TNT's 'Falling Skies'

The new trailer for ‘Falling Skies’ with Noah Wyle is strangely similar to the first season of ‘The Walking Dead.’  This new Sci-Fi mini-series starts on TNT this coming June.  And the show follows the survivors of an alien attack that’s left the world in a complete mess with all types of creatures running around trying to attack the survivors.

Moon Bloodgood from ‘Terminator: Salvation,’ Will Patton from ‘Armageddon’ and TNT’s ‘Into the West’ along with Drew Roy of ‘Secretariat’ also star in ‘Falling Skies.’
