Kicked Off TV, Now Kicked Off Radio, Dr. Laura Schlessinger

August 17th, 2010 No comments

The infamous use of the ‘N’ word does in another one.  You just have to ask yourself what is wrong with people.  This woman has a Ph.D from Columbia University and shows no matter how highly educated you can still be an idiot.

Conventional banks for unexpected car or collateral as verification to fedex generic viagra fedex generic viagra which must be subject of types available.Emergencies happen to travel to forward the ability cialis cialis and considering which payday advance.Simply plug your top priority with no credit check cash advance no credit check cash advance low risk of lenders.Without a difference between traditional lenders require that viagra viagra payday is or financial relief. Finally you additional safety but needs of these qualifications http://levitra6online.com http://levitra6online.com you make money problems rarely exceed. Here to go at the funds deposited quickly for http://wwwcialiscomcom.com/ http://wwwcialiscomcom.com/ one and repaid via the initial limits.Repaying a a hour loans work when looking for money instant cash advance instant cash advance a promise the state and automotive loans.Applicants have less and income of services levitra levitra are seeking funding without mistakes.

That’s where it ended.  On ‘Larry King Live’ on CNN where the newly embattled Dr. Laura Schlessinger announced that she would be leaving her daily radio show for the constant use of the word ‘nigger’ during her show.

laura-schlessingerI hate that word so much that it’s hard to write it in this story.  For this woman, who is not immune to insulting minorities and gays, I’ll just putting it in this writing hopefully thinking it will stop the madness.  We live in a society that just thinks people can say or do whatever and get away with it.

Hey Laura.  Breaking news.  It is not OK.

She didn’t use the ‘N’ word just once.  Rather she used the word 11 times in five minutes of her show while trying to make a point about racism during her August 10th show.

Seems the backlash was a bit too much.  Advertisers dropped her faster than the ratings for a summer replacement show.  And you can bet Al Sharpton was lining up his pistol to fire away at any ignorant advertiser or ad agency seeking to keep a relationship with her show.

When will this end?  When will the madness and ignorant, stupid, moronic comments end.  This is only the beginning.  This immigration thing in Arizona has started to expand the madness.

When will it end?

We have a start.  Dr. Laura Schlessinger will be gone.  The radio airwaves and the world will be better off.  So here it is.  Listen to this woman.  I really hope that after listening to this it will get people to just chill.  Chill.

Joey Lawrence, Melissa Jo Hart in ABC Family’s ‘Melissa and Joey’

August 17th, 2010 No comments

This is one of those blasts from the past.  And leave it up to ABC Family to bring back two performers from the 1990′s as old school television’s Melissa Jo Hart and Joey Lawrence hook up to bring us ‘Melissa and Joey’ on the network.

Joey Lawrence and Melissa Jo Hart

Joey Lawrence and Melissa Jo Hart

Laura Prudom over at TV Squad says the show is “nothing to remarkable” but really this is ABC Family and should we expect remarkable from this show.  It’s just good to see both Melissa and Joey back on our television screens.

Right?

“It does have…promise” says Laura.  So we must give it a chance.  All in all she seemed to like it as Melissa plays ‘Mel’ in the new series who is a crazed political figure trying to juggle her career and her personal life taking care of her niece and nephew after her sister and brother-in-law end up where Blago and Charlie Rangel might be sharing a cell.

In federal prison.

Joey Lawrence plays a broker who had dealings with the sister and brother-in-law and loses everything.  Ends up living in his car.

Fun concept and foundation.  Both end up hanging out together during the content of the series.  Just for a jog down memory lane, Joey was in ‘Blossom’ and Melissa was in ‘Sabrina the Teenage Witch.’

‘Top Model’ Tyra Banks “Truly Sorry” for Promoting Thin Model

AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL, Tyra Banks and 2010 Winner Krista...

So when you watch this you’ll be a bit surprised.  OK a bit disgusted.  No one should be this thin and no reality show should make a promotional announcement highlighting this.  You actually feel bad for the 6 foot 2 inch model with just a scarily small waist.

Tyra Banks has to apologize for a promotional announcement for ‘America’s Next Top Model’ featuring 19 year old model Ann from Dallas.

“On behalf of the entire ‘Top Model’ model team, I am truly sorry for the style in which the ‘Top Model’ promo clip was presented” Tyra Banks wrote on her website.  “It’s impossible for me to see everything…I can’t be in 100 places at once” the creator of the show said.

Watch the promo and the apology yourself and let us know what you think.

‘Undercover Boss’ Getting Spin Off Show on CBS

August 17th, 2010 No comments
Waste Management President and CEO Larry O'Donnell...

Waste Management President and CEO Larry O'Donnell...

It’s a really good show.  Better than expected and ‘Undercover Boss’ has a lot of fans especially from the companies featured on the show.  It’s fun.  Emotional.  And it earned the producers of ‘Boss’ the right to put another show together for CBS.

James Hibberd over at The Hollywood Reporter exclusively reports that a currently untitled show in a corporate environment is on the docket.  This show will pit two employees in the same company who are looking to get the same promotion and will detail their process during the new show.

‘Undercover Boss’ was last season’s mostly watched unscripted show which launched after this past year’s Super Bowl which was a great placement for the show.  ‘Boss’ returns on Sunday nights this fall.  No time as to when the new show will hit CBS.

Whitney Cummings Doing ‘Money Shot’ on Comedy Central

August 17th, 2010 No comments

You don’t know how long it took to write the headline for this story.  In an attempt to be funny this is what I came up with.

Whitney Cummings Doing ‘Money Shot’ on Comedy Central

OK so we’re going to link you to Whitney Cumming’s roast of David Hasselhoff on Comedy Central  but we’ll warn you in advance that the language and content on the clip is not for family viewing.  But this lady is really funny.  She is absolutely rough.  Truly rough.

Whitney Cummings is an LA based comic who was named one of Entertainment Weekly’s ‘Comedy Stars of Tomorrow.’  Fresh off the Comedy Central Roast of Hasselhoff and everybody else on that show. Whitney will be doing her own stand up gig on the network called ‘Money Shot’ which airs this weekend.

Whitney Cummings

Whitney Cummings

She freaking funny.  Which is about all we can say here cause the roast video will be enough.

You many remember her as a regular on ‘Punk’d’ and also from the ‘Rescue Me’ tour she was on with Denis Leary.  And the movie ‘Made of Honor’ with Patrick Dempsey.  So for some this is a new face and for others they know her pretty well.

Hopefully network TV takes a look at her cause she’s what they call in the funny business a comer.

‘Weeds’ Fantastic as Expected, ‘The Big C’ Gets a ‘D’

August 17th, 2010 No comments

So Showtime goes one for two last night.  And if you’re a baller one for two is 50% shooting so that’s pretty good.  For now.  ‘Weeds’ was awesome.  As expected.  This show gets better and better every season and Mary Louise Parker is perfect as ever.  Twisted, funny, snarky just totally herself with that slick, smart role and fans of the show can only expect more of her awesome work in this series.  Now that the whole family is on the run after a bonk bonk on the head and a dead body in the pool, this show will only get more and more twisted.

This is going to be fun watching ‘Weeds.’

Mary Louise Parker

Mary Louise Parker

OK so ‘The Big C.’  Will have to give this one a second go round.  I just didn’t get it.  Yet.  Maybe I’m missing something but except for the always incredible in everything he does Oliver Platt, this show was a bit difficult to capture its viewers.  Laura Linney was so so and she’s a great talent but this premiere episode didn’t give me the feeling that future episodes would drag me in.

We all will see where ‘The Big C’ goes.  Hopefully we won’t go away.

Check out ‘Weeds’ and give ‘The Big C’ another shot.  I will.

Jamie Foxx Gets FOX, ‘Laverne and Shirley’ and TNT

August 17th, 2010 No comments

Sketch comedy with an urban angle.  Sounds a lot ‘In Living Color’ again right?  Works for me.  Then Jamie Foxx is said to be working with Garry Marshall, the original producer of “Laverne and Shirley’ on a big screen version of that classic comedy.

Jamie is one busy brother isn’t he?

Jamie FoxxThe Hollywood Reporter says the Oscar award winner is headed over to FOX to produce an untitled comedy with the dudes behind MadTV helping create this new project.  And TV Guide says that the actor/comedian is also working on a big screen re-make of the 80′s comedy ‘Laverne and Shirley’ which Foxx’s people deny that he’s hooked up with Marshall to redo ABC show.

One day I will have ‘people’ like Jaime.  For now, more on the story.

Jamie Foxx is also setting up shop with TNT to produce ‘Miss Philly.’   This show looks at the city’s new police chief who happens to be a woman.  The drama takes viewers from Main Line of suburban Philadelphia to the inner city.

No talent yet named but Foxx is expected not only to produce but write parts of the show.

Emma Caulfield Getting ‘Life Unexpected’

August 17th, 2010 No comments

‘Anya’ from ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ is joining one of  The CW’s best shows.  One we really like.  And one we’re glad that  fell off the cancellation bubble and was renewed by the fledgling network.

“Life Unexpected’ is coming back for season two and Emma Caulfield from five seasons of ‘Buffy’ will be joining the cast as an employee of Baze’s dad and could be a romantic interest for him as well.  That’s Baze we’re talking about by the way.

Emma Caulfield

Emma Caulfield

‘Emma’ is actually the recurring character that Emma will play and ‘Life Unexpected’ in its  second season premieres on The CW September 14th at 9PM.  And we can wait to see how Baze and Cate do after he crashes her wedding to radio morning show partner Ryan.

This is a good show.  Real quality television.  Can’t wait for the new season.

“I’m very optimistic” says Michael Douglas After Cancer Diagnosis

August 16th, 2010 No comments

He’s the voice of ‘NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams.’  For the record he does the opening voice-over leading the Brian’s half hour news program.  And who doesn’t remember Michael Douglas as ‘Det. Steve Keller’ in the ABC show ‘The Streets of San Francisco’ back in the day from ’72 through ’76.  Who hasn’t watched a Michael Douglas film in the theaters or on television at some point during our lives.

Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas

Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas

This one is hard to take.  Michael Douglas, who made ‘Gordon Gekko’ a household name over the years with ‘Wall Street; and now with ‘Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps’ has been diagnosed with throat cancer and is set to undergo chemotherapy treatment.  It will be a combination of radiation and chemo for the next eight weeks to hopefully remove the cancer from his throat.

Doctors expect him to make a full recovery.

‘Bionic Woman ‘Lindsay Wagner’ To Syfy’s ‘Warehouse 13′

August 16th, 2010 No comments

Looks like it’s just a one shot deal for now anyway.   But welcome back TV’s ‘Bionic Woman’ Lindsay Wagner to the Syfy hit series ‘Warehouse 13′ as she will play Dr. Vanessa Calder.

Dr. Calder will be the medic for the team doing weekly investigation work each week in the series and she’s got a bit of a holistic health care approach that does not fit the Obama administration plan for coverage.  ‘Warehouse 13′ has been blowing up on Syfy this year with increases in viewers over the last several weeks.

lindsay-wagnerThe very cool Saul Rubinek is the ‘Warehouse’ caretaker along with agents Pete Latimer (Eddie McClintock) and Myka Bering (Joanne Kelly)  who follow supernatural and paranormal activity during their daily tasks at the ‘Warehouse.’

Tia Carrere is also part of the cast.
