The Los Angeles Times did a story about the reality TV genre use of kids in these shows and safety issues connected with their involvement. And that government oversight of reality TV with kids is non-existent. There apparently are no laws or legal rules and regs at all.
Even producers cite concern and that’s a first with the type of scum that create reality programming.
Now a Pennsylvania politico is stepping in and targeting TLC’s ‘Kate Plus 8′ saying the kids working on the show are not old enough for work permits. State rep Tom Murt wants the PA state attorney general to review the special permits the Gosselin kids are using to work on the show. ‘Kate Plus 8′ is filmed in Wernersville just outside of Reading in the Keystone State.
The Gosselin kids are only 6 years old and permits can only be issued for children under 7 if they are working on a movie not a television show. Murt says those permits were granted even though the law says the kids are too young to be “working” on the show.
It’s only a guest role and it comes on one of TV’s hot new shows on the upcoming network TV Land. Joe Jonas, part of the highly popular Jonas Brothers, will be doing a guest role on TV Land’s ‘Hot in Cleveland’ in August.
Gee we forgot about the Jonas Brothers with Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga ruling this summer.
The guest slot for Joe Jonas makes him the son of Valerie Bertinelli’s character in the show. Now Joe can add ‘Hot in Cleveland’ to his acting resume following his time on Disney Channel’s ‘Camp Rock’ that he starred in with ex-girlfriend Demi Lovato.
‘Hot in Cleveland’ got re-upped for another season, this one at 20 episodes which is twice what they had for the freshman launch of the show.
Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter from 'Dexter'...
What a challenge! A robotic, crime stopping cop and the world’s most lovable serial killer all coming together this fall on the new season of ‘Dexter.’
Gotta admitthat this is one of our favorite shows. The regular cast is 100% fantastic. Michael C. Hall is the massively twisted serial killer ‘Dexter’ and Jennifer Carpenter, his real life wife, is the similarly personally twisted sister Debra Morgan.
He just can’t stop elmininating people and this girl just can’t keep a boyfriend . Both are just engaging characters and you just can’t not stop turning on this show.
Step in Peter Weller, best known for his efforts 1987 cult classic ‘RoboCop’ and more recently 11 episodes of ’24’ back in 2006. He will play a messed up Miami cop involved in a rat squad investigation and will be in 8 of 12 episodes now in production for a September 26th start.
Well it’s about time they took this guy and did something more with him. Mario Lopez is one of the hottest bods on television and quite frankly does a damn good job in his role as host of the entertainment show ‘Extra.’ This show saved his career, moderating over some of the cheesiest, trashiest content in the world.
Courtney Mazza and Mario Lopez
So there’s no reason for him not to get his own reality show. Right?
Well we did a story about a new show on E! with Chloe Kardashian and husband Lamar Odom trying to make a baby. Can’t wait for that. Now Mario and knocked up girlfriend Courtney Mazza are doing a show about him becoming a Dad as he plays new upcoming Poppy while negotiating ‘Extra’ and the MTV show ‘America’s Best Dance Crew.’
I know, “who cares” but c’mon it’s Mario Lopez! 8 episodes are on the docket for this one.
Gotta say we didn’t have a lot of faith in this one. And we actually watched Major League Baseball’s ‘All Star Game’ instead of the first long awaited premiere of this show. While Piper Perabo stands at 5’6″ and lucky if she makes 100 pounds (OK maybe she’s not that light) the premiere episode of ‘Covert Affairs’ kicked some serious tail and this one looks like a true winner.
Piper was awesome. The cast behind her which includes the under-rated Kari Matchett and newcomer Christopher Gorham, along with the always lovable Peter Gallagher, ‘Covert Affairs’ makes the mark in credibility, spy strategy and a whole lot of fun. You want to watch this show through commercials. First because Piper is just cool, smart and makes her role as a CIA believable, but damn she looks good. So throw in the combination of good looks and a credible character, you get the sense that USA Network has grabbed on to another successful summer series.
We really thought this one might blow up go away after its freshman season but if Doug Liman who gave us the Jason Bourne trilogy and the movie ‘The Heist’ can keep up the the quality of the pilot, USA Network has done it again.
Two thumbs up on ‘Covert Affairs’ so give it a watch.
Well this is one of those it’s about time we wrote this story story. Tisha Campbell is how we knew her and now we know her as Tisha Campbell-Martin. That was back in the day when she was Martin Lawrence’s girl Gina in the FOX show ‘Martin’ and when she worked and worked well in the ABC series ‘My Wife and Kids’ which are now both in syndication.
Fast forward to today and she along with her husband Duane are now looking at new comedy series on ABC and NBC respectively.
Tisha hooks up in ‘Wright vs. Wrong’ where she will play the hairstylist for Debra Messing’s character and Duane will be in the new Paul Reiser series ‘Next’ which you can read about by searching for Paul on our site. Duane will play one of Reiser’s friends who owns a restaurant in that new series set to air on NBC this fall.
This is one of those things that can ruin a career. No matter how old they look, guys you’d better ask their age cause John Stamos is going through something that only can be seen these days on Oxygen or Lifetime.
The actor is denying that he had a fling with a 17 year old girl who six years after the alleged incident is on trial for trying to snatch hundreds of thousands of dollars from him not to do a tell all about the story.
Allison Coss and Scott Sippola are on trial for extortion among other charges including conspiring to take $680,000 from the actor. Telling Stamos that they had pictures of him snorting cocaine and cavorting with strippers which prosecutors say don’t exist.
Stamos denies the ‘short eyes’ charge and is expected to testify during the trial. In addition the judge in the case has thrown out any attempt by Coss and Sippola’s attorney to bring up the relationship between Coss and Stamos so he’s in the clear on anything coming up in this case. But there’s always a Gloria Allred, bottom feeding attorney out there looking for another “my man done done me wrong” female looking for a big payday.
Mel Gibson needs a friend. He seems to have only one.
Blacks hate him.
Jews hate him.
Gays hate him.
Latinos hate him.
Women hate him
Cops hate him.
But one person in America still says he’s not a racist and that is Whoopi Goldberg from ‘The View’ on ABC. Mel Gibson has been the scorn of everyone over the last week since release of tapes threatening to beat up and kill his girlfriend and using the N word among other racist rants.
And Whoopi claims he’s not a racist because of that fire water. Whoopi believes that alcohol is the reason why people say things that they would never say if they had not popped the cork on the bottle.
Most believe that the real person comes out when they are drunk. “I don’t like alcohol,” says Whoopi. Which means that she has no experience with drunks. Truly if you ever have been around someone that is drinking, you can learn a whole hell of a lot from them…about them.
Whoopi done lost her mind. But watch her talk about that asshole Mel Gibson, who after this episode, should be banned from Hollywood.
After six seasons on the series ‘CSI:NY’ and with a move coming from Tuesday to Friday night on CBS TV, Melina Kanakaredes will not renew her contract as ‘Detective Stella Bonasera’ on the show.
Sela Ward is up to replace her as Melina says that it’s time for her to go.
Maria Kanakaredes and Gary Sinise
Yeah plus that move to Friday night pretty much has cancellation written all over it. Good move Melina. Plus this show pretty much is number three in the trilogy of ‘CSI’ and it sure is better to leave a show already on the air rather than be on a show going through lots of changes in viewer popularity.
“We hoped Melina would return for another season,” CBS said in a statement.
