This guy is very funny.  We guess he just wanted to do movies but why Eugene Levy hasn’t been on regular television in a comedic role is surprising.  Anyway let’s fast forward to now as Levy now has been hitched in the new series ‘Hitched’ slated for broadcast on CBS.

You’ve seen him in the ‘American Pie’ movies and has a new movie slated for 2011 titled ‘Punctured’ which looks to go in to pre production now.  Plus he was the voice Orrin in ‘Astro Boy’ the movie, which came out last year.

Now in ‘Hitched’ he will play the four time divorced father of a 20 something newlywed couple.

‘Def Comedy Jam’ Producers Hook Up with Comedy Central

February 26th, 2010 No comments

Russell Simmons and Stan Lathan started it back in the 90′s.  And here are some names that made their bones when ‘Def Comedy Jam’ ran on HBO.  David Chappelle, Chris Tucker, Martin Lawrence and the late great Bernie Mac.  Don’t forget radio and TV’s Steve Harvey who was on the popular series as well.

Some of today’s hottest African American comedians made their way through this show and this writer leveraged off that series to produce comedy shows back in Philadelphia way back then.

Now Comedy Central is going in to business with these two moguls.  With a new standup comedy series yet to be titled though comic J.B. Smoove has been named as show host.

Six half hour episodes will be produced which means the network will test it out first to see if there’s a hole now for African American comedy on television.   Known for its raunchy humor, ‘Def Comedy Jam’ brought in tons of viewers because of its content.   We’ll see if it works for Comedy Central.

Bristol Palin Gets Acting Gig on ABC Family’s ‘The Secret Life of an American Teenager’

February 23rd, 2010 No comments

Great!  First we do a story about the First Lady talking with Mike Huckabee on kids and nutrition on Fox and now we have to do a story and mention Sarah Palin.  And we thought we were an entertainment site.

Yeah right!

OK so we really don’t have to mention Sarah but we can talk a bit about Bristol Palin her daughter as she guests on the ABC Family drama ‘The Secret Life of an American Teenager.’

The  show focuses on a teen mom Amy played by Shailene Woodley and Bristol Palin will actually play the friend of Amy as they are both part of a music program for teen moms.  This is the third season for ‘The Secret Life of an American Teenager’ and Bristol’s episode will air this summer.

Michael Chiklis

It’s about time.  Dang, we were wondering when Michael Chiklis would return to network television.  If there was any performer that left our TV’s with a bang it was his role as the infamous Vic Mackey on ‘The Shield’ which ran for six years on FX.

What a scumbag he was on that show.  What a cool show!

Michael is coming back in a new ABC drama titled ‘No Ordinary Family’ which is about a family with a special powers and that’s all we have about the project.  He will also executive producer.

Ryan Seacrest Doing New Reality Show with Personal Trainer on The CW

February 20th, 2010 No comments

Tracy Anderson -

Tracy Anderson -

Most of us have never heard of Tracy Anderson.  That’s why we used Ryan Seacrest’s name in the headline of this story because it is important that we  grab you and keep you reading with a well know name.  So now we connect personal trainer Tracy Anderson to Ryan Seacrest and a few other big names you may have heard of if you have any pulse in your body.

Ready for the list?

Tracy Anderson is responsible for the bodies of Jennifer Aniston, Madonna, Courteney Cox, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson and Shakira.  And we’re sure if she works out these hot and ounce free of fat bodies of these hotties then she will become a pretty big name as The CW is putting together a reality show based on her training and the celebrities she trains.  Ryan Seacrest is producing.

She’s best known for Madonna’s incredible physique.  Not a bad job.  No title yet for the new series and expect it to be on the air sometime this summer.

Courtney Thorne-Smith Coming to CBS and ‘Two and a Half Men’

February 18th, 2010 No comments

Courtney Thorne-Smith

Well the problem is will there be a show.  With all of the crap going on with Charlie Sheen and his wife maybe the producers of this show are planning for life after ‘Charlie Harper’ by surrounding the cast with some new names.  Courtney Thorne-Smith is joining the cast of the CBS hit show ‘Two and a Half Men’ as the girlfriend of Charlie’s brother ‘Alan Harper’ played by Jon Cryer.

Fresh off the Lifetime movie ‘Sorority Wars’ and a stint on ABC’s ‘According to Jim’, this is Courtney’s full time return to network television.   Most of us remember her from ‘Melrose Place’ but let’s say her addition to this show is a pretty good move, bringing a well know face to a show that needs a bit of new blood.  The writing on this show this year is pretty bad so maybe this will put a new jolt in to ‘Men.’

February 16th, 2010 No comments

Taryn Manning

Nice move with a performer that needed a regular role to take her career to the next level.  The all new ‘Hawaii Five-O’ is doing a great job in casting a new team as Taryn Manning has joined up to be a part the new series.  Manning will play the younger sister of Steve McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) along with ‘Lost’ actor Daniel Dae Kim who is cast as Detective Chin Ho Kelly.

Cast as Mary Jo McGarrett (the original Steve didn’t have a sister) Taryn Manning has a short shot on ‘Sons of Anarchy’ on FX and did solid work on the film ‘Hustle and Flow’ in 2005.

All New ‘Hawaii Five-O’ See ‘Behind the Scenes’ Video, Alex O’Loughlin is ‘Steve McGarrett’

February 11th, 2010 No comments

UPFRONT 2010Jack Lord made the phrase “book ‘em Danno” the words we have all used at some time in our lives.  OK at some time in our lives if you’re over 40 years of age.  And that might be pushing it but CBS has put ‘Hawaii Five-O’ officially back in business.

OK so Jack Lord played the very cool Steve McGarrett in his series which aired in the 60′s and early 70′s.  And now Alex O’Loughlin, who had a part in the real short CBS series ‘Three Rivers’, will return to the network as ‘McGarrett’ when the re-make hits the air.

‘Hawaii Five-O’ is about a bunch of cool detectives with the Hawaii State Police and ‘McGarrett’ heads the team. Daniel Dae Kim has already been cast to play ‘Det. Chin Ho Kelly’ in the series.  Scott Caan and the very hot Grace Park are in the new show as well.
