‘Life’ which aired on NBC this year was a high quality show that couldn’t bring in the ratings yet one of the reasons why that network can get any serious foundation in the drama series category.  But the acting was superb and one of the leads in that series will get set for a pilot on the NBC owned cable network USA.

Sarah Shahi, whose solid resume includes ‘Life’,  ’The L Word’, ‘Alias’ and the comedy ‘Teachers’, will star in ‘Kate’, a drama about a San Francisco attorney that leave her practice to become a mediator.  No start date on the premiere has been set for the pilot.

October 14th, 2009 No comments

She’s done great work in ‘Man on Fire’, ‘Phone Booth’ and the indie film ‘High Art’, but has only been seen in one American made series until now.  Radha Mitchell will pilot a new drama on A&E titled ‘The Quickening’ which will begin filming in Los Angeles in November.

The Australian born performer played a part in the NBC miniseries ’Uprising’ on NBC in 2001 and is in the big screen movie ‘Surrogates’ now playing in theaters and getting second billing behind Bruce Willis.

This new series gets A&E back in to scripted series programming after cancelling ‘The Cleaner’ and ‘The Beast’ recently.  Mitchell will play a homicide detective suffering from a bipolar disorder and re-assigned to desk duty because of her condition.
